      Retreat with Alit

      About Alit

Alit has been practising since 2014 and has been teaching at different studios and gyms over the years. She has been studying  Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin yoga, and has been teaching public classes as well as private sessions, workshops and retreats. She focuses on technique and alignment and she adapts the practice to each student, so they can progress safely through the Ashtanga series. She firmly believes that this practice is for everyone, and that anyone willing to put the work in is able to do it.

“I get inspired when I see my students reach their goals.”

Everything was perfect, except for the food.

Loved the yoga with Kino and Tim! Met some wonderful people. It was a full week with around 35-40 people in the Shala. Only minor frustrations, hence why I have given 4*, which others have mentioned (lack of communication after booking, more variety on food, fresh juice, proper coffee, expensive!). I did the non-residential option so I can’t comment on the rooms but the location is stunning and close to a lovely town, Porerres. Beautiful location, it was a real treat relaxing by the pool and I loved the boat trip- this was a real highlight for me! I’d love to practice with Kino and Tim again.

I had such an amazing time at this retreat. Kino and Tim are everything you can imagine and more. My practice with them was everything that I hoped it would be with a deeper understanding and increased confidence in my abilities. They challenge you in a supportive and caring way that only deepens your practice. The venue/shala was beautiful and serene allowing for plenty of time for yoga and relaxation. It is not really close to anything which makes it nice if you just want to relax, but if you want to explore or venture around more, a rental car is a great option. So many people had rental cars that it was easy to hitch rides as well depending on how independent you want to be. My only complaints would be the general lack of organization and communication. I had asked for an itinerary months before the retreat so that I could plan tours and evenings out. I only got a response that "more information would be forthcoming" a few weeks before the retreat and only got a more firm itinerary once I arrived. This was unfortunate because I booked some restaurants and outings during times when there was special dinners and pool parties that I was disappointment to have missed. I had seen in other postings concerns about the food, but the food was fantastic and plenty of it to go around, my only suggestion for future retreats is to offer more food that is consistent with the culture of Spain/Mallorca. Part of the allure of going to a retreat in a foreign country is to experience some of the culture like the food. I realize the food was vegan/vegetarian but would have loved to see more variety in the menu, for example, I asked if Spanish tortilla would be served but it never was or a vegetarian paella would have been nice to see. Being in Spain, I had expected fresh juices at breakfast and nice European coffee available like espresso/cappuccino but this was not the case. At one point, I asked if some fresh juice could be provided but none ever was which was disappointing when most bars/cafes in Mallorca offer fresh orange juice. I would definitely attend this retreat again because the yoga and venue are amazing, but would probably opt for a non-residential option in order to have more variety/flexibility with food on my own in the future.

Pilar made a fantastic job getting Tim and Kino to both come and teach in this beautiful island. The Villa and Finca are vey nice place and so is the Shala to practice in . Garden around is simply mesmerizing. Boat trip is also a super idea and you get that rest and holiday feeling. However the retreat felt overpriced for what we got (rooms are basics and food too repetitive) it lacked organisation on daily basis and certain things therefore could be improved. It’s an expensive retreat so people come with high/higher expectations.

I went to the yoga retreat 2021 and omg It was so nice arranged I can't believe how well Pilar did this with the amazing teacher Laruga. I highly recommend this even if beginner as they take care of you from scratch and all you really need is a positive mind and willingness to learn and you are to have the time of your life!!!
