What’s included

  • Welcome Ceremony
    Be welcomed into the local community and your home for the week by the village elders whose custom is to perform the traditional ceremony for luck and protection.
  • Daily Wellness Practices
    Engage in daily spiritual & mindful practices including Yin Yoga, Yang Yoga (Hatha & Vinyasa), Qi Gong, Guided Breathwork, Chakradance (movement meditation), & Tibetan Bowl Sound Baths.
  • Guided Meditations
    Witness the sun rise and set over the Myanmar & Thai mountains during our twice daily meditation sessions.
  • Elephant Trekking
    Walk deep into the forest to witness the elephants in their natural environment, guided by the local team of mahouts.
  • Ancient Temple Visit
    Visit the locally protected ancient Buddhist temple which sits above the village, with a daily visit at sunset to meditate above the clouds.
  • Herbal Nature Walk
    Be guided by one of the Karen elders on a herbal nature walk around the edges of the village forest, and learn about the medicinal plants that are grown and used here each day.
  • Authentic Village Crafts
    Watch and learn about the traditional Karen crafts which still exist in the community today. Try your own hand at fabric and basket weaving with the local men and women.
  • Campfire Connections
    Connect with the community and discuss the events of the day at our evening campfire after dinner.
  • Authentic Homestay
    Stay with a Karen family in their home, and experience local life for the people in the village. (Option to stay in the guest lodge if preferred).
  • Homecooked Veg Meals
    Homecooked vegetarian breakfasts, lunches & dinners are included at the village. Packed lunches will be provided on trekking days. Breakfast buffet also included at the Teak Hotel on Day 2 and Day 7.
  • Joining at Teak Hotel
    Accommodation on Day 1 & Day 6 will be at the Teak Hotel in Mae Sot. Each guest will be given their own private room, and have access to all hotel facilities, and breakfast.
  • Transfer to/from Village
    4x4 Private vehicle transfer to and from the Teak Hotel in Mae Sot to the Karen hill tribe village.
  • Bed Linen & Yoga Mats
    Bed linen is provided in the homestays and at the guest lodge. Yoga mats are provided for the wellness practices. You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat if preferred.
  • Craft Shop
    If you wish to purchase any items from the Karen villagers, such as clothing, fabrics or crafts, you will have an opportunity to do so. Please bring cash in Thai Baht.

What’s not included

  • Flights & Thai Transfers
    Flights & transfers to Mae Sot, Thailand must be arranged separately.
  • Visa/Thailand Entry
    Please consult your local authority for advice on travel to Thailand.
  • Trekking Gear
    Please come equipped with appropriate clothing and footwear for steep hilly forest trekking.
  • Towels
    Please remember to bring your own travel towel!
  • Dinner on Night 6
    You will be invited to join an optional farewell dinner on return to Mae Sot on Day 6. Please note: dinner on this night is at your own expense.
  • Optional Donation
    Your payment includes an essential fee paid directly to Mahouts Elephant Foundation to fund all expenses and activities at the village. Any additional donations are optional at your own discretion.
