Let's get together and enjoy a weekend in paradise!
Koh Samui is one Thailand's big-name beach destinations, which means crowds of people, beautiful resorts, luxury retreats, and of course, tacky and kitsch tourism.
But I figured as long as we have those beautiful serene, white sand beaches, beach bars and Thai spa treatments,, we can make the island our own and have a blast.
Having said that, the island is big enough to offer a lot of activities for all types of expectations. From temples to sex-shows to deserted-island hopping to snorkeling, you can try it all and NO ONE will judge if you decide to be lazy and do nothing. .
There is plenty of options for accommodations. From beach bungalows to five-star hotels and resorts, you get to indulge in just about anything. Since the island is relatively big compared to other islands in Thailand (approximately 1 hour drive from one end to another) there are different beaches with different settings. I have listed three that I thought was suitable for the occasion. Mind you, feel free to venture out to different places.
Chaweng Beach
pros: Known as the most beautiful beach in the island, Lots of bars and restaurants, Good nightlife
Cons: Busy and touristy
Bo Phut Beach
Pros: Authentic fisherman's village, quiet with some restaurants and bars
Cons: quiet with a few 'affordable' accommodations
Lipa Noi
Pros: Beautiful, quiet and secluded beach
Cons: Far from tourist attractions
The island has some of the most beautiful villas you can imagine. From minimal design in the mountains, to typical Thai-style straw beach cabins, most have full concierge service, include breakfast, housekeeping and transport. Despite its luxury, for some of the villas the cost per person can be as little as $80 (depending on the number of people sharing the place).
Those interested in sharing a villa can let me know and depending on the number, we can find a great place that could potentially host some of our 'debaucheries'.

There are limited number of international flights to Koh Samui. The common airport hub for travelers is Phuket and Bangkok. There are plenty of local flights (from $200) available from both destinations. They are all pretty reliable and fly almost every hour of the day.
Here is a list of international direct flights to Samui:
Singapore Airlines
Thai Airways
British Airways
Eva Air
Qantas Airways
Malaysia Airlines

Most of you will probably land in Bangkok before going to the islands. To kill your jetlag and also to see this (in my opinion) under-rated city, we suggest staying at least two nights in Bangkok before heading to the Island. In that case, we will be happy to provide assistance for your stay and for things to do. And obviously a pre-gamer for the weekend.
