About this trip

A requirement for a REV trip? Adventure and history… it must include being immersed in the culture and exploring freely. We want to see much more than just pretty scenery. When you leave you feel a part of you is left behind and a piece of it is taken with you….

The latest adventure will be to Central America’s beautiful country of Panama. A country filled with a past that is recent enough, that most of us may question whether or not it is safe to travel there… Another one of the quests of REV, to bring people to these beautiful places that have shadows that could use some light shined on them.

Itinerary

Panama Adventure!
Panama Canal to Monkey Island... to your own overwater bungalow!

Leave Sunday Evening from DTW - Arrive approximately 2am

(B,D)

Monday- Relax- Explore Casco Viejo (the historic area of Panama city)

Panama City’s hippest neighborhood is also its smallest. Just four avenues wide, Casco Viejo (literally meaning 'old quarter') is a UNESCO protected district and a barrio on the up. It wasn’t long ago that gangs patrolled these narrow brick streets and visitors kept far away, but these days the grand old colonial houses and crumbling pastel facades have become some of the capital’s most stylish addresses.

Check out all the local highlights- Rum bars, world's most expensive coffee and Ceviche in a styrofoam cup.

(B,L,D)

Tuesday- Early Rise for a Panama Canal tour of EPIC proportions.

See the history of this modern wonder of the world and then explore the amazing natural world at Monkey island and more!

Travel between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during this 8-hour tour of the Panama Canal. With your local guide, explore the canal by sea and on foot, viewing the ships passing through the locks and the variety of plant and animal life on the canal's shores. Explore Gatun Lake and Monkey Island, home to howlers, capuchins and tamarins. Stop at the Gatun Locks Visitor Center to get an overview of the canal's history through informative displays and exhibits. Eat a picnic lunch near the Gatun Dam before moving on to explore San Lorenzo National Park and Fort San Lorenzo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

(L,D)

When we arrive we will be met by our amazing guides for the next two days. They will guide us to our beautiful beach and the resort reserved entirely for US! Explore your adventurous side here (or lay in hammock for two days!) Options for surf lessons and so much more!
