Rhythms of the Land is a land-based wellness experience at Finca Ana Isa that invites participants to reconnect with Black history through the land, the body, and ancestral practices.
This experience begins with a guided walk through the finca, where you’ll learn about local plants, traditional uses, and Afro-Indigenous farming practices rooted in sustainability and self-sufficiency. As you move through the land, you’ll explore how history lives not only in books, but in soil, foodways, and lived traditions passed down through generations.
Participants will then take part in a facilitated rhythm and drumming session that incorporates breathwork and sound as tools for grounding, reflection, and connection. No prior experience is needed—this portion is designed to help you slow down, listen, and reconnect with yourself and the present moment.
The experience continues with a hands-on garden workshop, where you’ll help build a garden bed while learning how ancestral knowledge, seasonal rhythms, and respect for the land guide sustainable living practices. This portion connects directly to the legacy of education as service and working with the land rather than against it.
The day concludes with a shared farm-to-table lunch prepared on site, offering time to rest, connect, and enjoy food rooted in place and intention.
This experience is open to individuals and families seeking meaningful connection, cultural reflection, and hands-on learning in a natural setting.
