Standard room with 2 queen beds or 1 king size bed. Hotel is on the beach and directly across the street from the training facility. This is the most budget friendly option.

Wednesday night fly out of Newark airport for a 9:00pm flight going directly to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico (only 3.5 hours).

After landing you will be picked up and driven to Rincon which is only about a 30 minute ride. Get some shut eye.

Rock Climbing
There will be a 9am training session. We will then leave around 11:30am to Playa Herminia for the people who are climbing. This beautiful beach use to be an old pirate cove and has some fun rock climbing steps from the ocean. If you don’t want to climb, you are welcome to stay in Rincon and relax at the beach or snorkel, paddleboard, etc. There will evening training session at 6:00 followed by the Art Walk in the center of town where there are restaurants, local vendors, bars, and live music!

Boat Trip to La Parguera
Opening the day with 9am Jiu Jitsu session before we head out to the beautiful beaches of La Parguera! Packing coolers of medalla beers and a traditional puerto rican lunch for everyone is included! serving medio pollo con aroz gondules y yuca. We will then rent boats and explore the mangroves and little islands in the Caribbean Sea. Just kiick back and enjoy this amazing piece of heaven all day!

To finish this amazing day right, we all return back just in time to watch sunset.

Pig Roast
We will start the day with a 9am training session. Everyone will have a free afternoon to relax and chill before we start our beach side pig roast at 5:00. There will also be an outdoor mat area to train during sunset!

Surf and Hike

There will be a 9am optional training or surf session. Everyone will need to pack and be read yo checkout the hotel around 1:00pm. you will be able to leave your bags at the hotel and can hang out poolside or on the beach. At 4:00pm we will go for hike at the Domes trails and Spanish Wall along the beach (old train tracks). We will finish at El Farro (the lighthouse) for sunset and cocktails. Then we will get one last group dinner at The Beach House before heading to the airport at 10:00.

Rincon Jiu Jitsu is s a part of Legion Jiu Jitsu Association and located in the beautiful town of Rincón Puerto Rico. The gym is own and operated by Steven Barnett who is an IBJJF certified 1st degree black belt under the UFC veteran, Kurt Pellegrino and grappling legend, Marcelo Garcia. Head instructor Sean Locke who is a 4th degree “Brazilian Top Team” black belt has been running a Jiu Jitsu program in Rincón for nearly 5 years. We are thankful that you have chosen us to help guide you along your martial arts journey!

Amazing experience put together by professor Steve. The jiu-jitsu instructional seminar by nick and Danny was next level and improved my game tremendously. Whether we were training or rock climbing we had a great time. The perfect blend of jiu-jitsu and adventure and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Everything about this trip was amazing! The accommodations exceeded my expectations, as did our island excursions. Everyone I met was genuinely kind and very personable. I'm looking forward to seeing them again at the next retreat. Most importantly, the jiu jitsu portion of the retreat was done in a manner that was challenging, yet safe. We trained harder than most gyms train, but everyone was also mindful of individual safety. As a disabled veteran, I can honestly say they earned my trust in this regard, and can be trusted with other at risk populations.
