Belize

Belize has become a destination for adventure-seekers of all kinds. On land, you can hike, canoe, kayak, cave, bird and explore ruins. At sea, the diving steals the show. The Belize Barrier Reef, part of the second largest barrier reef system in the world, is home to hundreds of species of fish and corals. This is the perfect destination for new or experienced divers!

The Diving

Minimum dive certification/experience: PADI Open Water Diver can be completed on trip. PADI Enriched Air/Nitrox certification strongly recommended. Deep Diver recommended for Blue Hole dive.

Belize is a wall diver's paradise. Sheer walls like Painted Wall, Half Moon Caye Wall and Quebrada are adorned with huge crimson gorgonians and giant orange elephant ear sponges. Moray eels, spiny lobsters and tiny arrow crabs hide in every crack, crevice, cave and tunnels of these beautiful coral formations. The mystical Blue Hole, a collapsed freshwater cave system is approximately 1000 feet across and over 400 feet deep. The Blue Hole was made famous by ocean pioneer Jacques-Yves Cousteau who declared it one of the Top Ten Dive Sites in the World.

Every Saturday at 6 pm, the boat casts off from the Radisson Ft. George dock, located in the heart of downtown Belize City for a week of hassle-free diving. Diving begins Sunday morning and ends Friday before lunch when we return to port. Sunday through Thursday there is unlimited diving throughout the day and a night dive each evening.  Friday a half day of diving is offered.

Water temperature averages around 80 F degrees, so a 3mm wetsuit is recommended. All dives are from the yacht although a 15 ft tender is available to take guests for optional shore excursions (1-2) during the week.

The Belize Aggressor IV

The Belize Aggressor IV is a 138’ yacht with a wide 26’ beam which sleeps 20 guests. Built and powered for comfort, safety and stability, she is diesel-powered, cruises at 12 knots and has 110-volt power onboard. Accommodations include 8 Deluxe staterooms with two twin beds or one king bed and 2 Master staterooms with one queen bed.

She features a roomy, air conditioned salon and dining area, sun deck complete with a lounge and deck chairs, stereo and CD player, shaded wet bar and grill, a complete photo center with a digital video and still photo editing computer. The dive deck has individual dive lockers, a camera table with low-pressure air hoses and two hot, fresh water showers.

All staterooms are air-conditioned and fitted with a private toilet, shower, sink, hair dryer and robes. Breakfast (cooked to order), buffet lunch and an elegant meal at dinner with tableside service are served in addition to fresh mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks. Beverages, soft drinks, local beer and wine are complimentary while onboard.

At 6 pm the yacht departs for its night anchorage to prepare for diving Sunday morning. After a full week of diving, the Belize Aggressor IV returns back to the Radisson Ft. George dock in Belize City Friday afternoon after lunch. Check-out is Saturday morning at 8 am. Transportation is provided back to the Belize City International Airport Saturday morning, January 4th.

A trip to this Central American paradise isn’t complete without a visit to Belize’s Mayan ruins, a cave tubing ride through the jungle, or a canopy tour through the tree tops. Tours are offered on Friday afternoon, but an extended stay is recommended to fully enjoy the wonders of Belize. Guests may enjoy the Radisson Ft. George Hotel pool facility and bar area on Saturday free of charge.

Cold water wonder is an understatement! The diving was beautiful, the resort was scenic, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend getting dry suit certified to be able to do this trip. Heather and Jonas did a great job leading the trip, making sure everyone had a great time.

It was a great diving trip. I enjoyed the group. Anthony from Blue Planet was a great, and very knowledgeable organizer and trip lead. His experience and knowledge as a Dive Instructor also became very evident. I enjoyed the trip.

Diving in Grenada was an incredible experience - likely my favorite dives I've done. Anthony was an excellent trip organizer and guide, the dive shop staff was fantastic, and Grenada itself has a lot to offer including beautiful beaches, great food, rum distilleries, chocolate factories, and a ton of hiking opportunities. I'll definitely be returning if Blue Planet does another trip in the future.

Another stellar dive trip with Blue Planet, my seventh! The scenery was stunning and the diving was excellent! Kudos to Heather for wrangling 14 adult with aplomb, whilst running certification courses, adapting to schedule changes, and enjoying the whole experience with us at the same time. The boat and dive crew were fabulous, very down to earth and attentive. The resort staff and food were wonderful too, so were the resorts non-diving activities. Definitely a trip for the memory books. Can't wait for another BP dive trip in 2025!

This was our fourth trip with Blue Planet and it was another great one! They do such a wonderful job of handling all the trip logistics and picking out excellent dive shops. The local St. Lucian dive crew was one of the best we've had!

Blue planet is absolutely spectacular - I try to go on at least one trip a year with them! They've taught me everything I know about diving and show incredible care and dedication to their divers. The trips are absolutely incredible; I wish it was possible to rate them six stars instead of five! I cannot recommend them highly enough and intend to keep diving with them for years to come.
