We begin our day with a visit to the magnificent Christ the Redeemer, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The ride up follows a scenic route through the Tijuca National Park, one of the largest reforested urban areas on the planet. At the summit of Corcovado Mountain, you'll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Rio - from Sugarloaf Mountain to Guanabara Bay and the legendary Maracanã stadium.
Next, we explore the historic and artistic hilltop neighborhood of Santa Teresa. With its cobblestone streets, colorful murals, and colonial mansions, this bohemian quarter is a living museum of Rio’s creative spirit and cultural resilience.
We’ll then visit the iconic Selarón Steps, a vibrant mosaic of over 2,000 tiles collected from around the world by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón - a true symbol of global unity and local expression.

Walk along the iconic imperial palm avenue, explore orchid houses, medicinal plants, and hidden sculptures, and encounter monkeys, toucans, and butterflies along the way. It’s a living museum of tropical nature, artfully curated and deeply peaceful.

Founded in 2018 and led by professionals with over 20 years of experience in the tourism sector, Etnias Turismo is a Rio de Janeiro-based DMC specialized in Afrotourism and cultural tourism. Our team is majority Black, composed of educators, historians, and guides licensed by Brazil's Ministry of Tourism.
We design Afrocentric, decolonial itineraries that connect travelers to African ancestry, Afro-Brazilian heritage, and living memory territories - from Pequena África and the historic city center to Madureira, quilombo communities, and the Rota do Samba.
Recognized nationally and internationally, we served as official curators and operators of the Black Travel Summit (2025) and the Festival da Diáspora (2024). We are also the official curators and operators of the Rota do Samba Vila Isabel, developed in partnership with EMBRATUR.
