This day trip features a leisurely morning of cruising along one of South Carolina's beautiful Lowcountry rivers where we will be entertained and educated by a local historian. During this 2 to 2 1/2 hour (depends on the tides) private charter we learn about the history, mystery and legends of six Rice Plantations. The Waccamaw River also treats us to flora, fauna and usually wildlife sightings of eagles, ospreys and alligators. Following our time on the river (rivah as the locals say) we make the short drive to The Market Common for lunch at restaurants of your choosing. Please note it's strawberry season so you might want to stop in the Crepe Creation Cafe for a crepe loaded with beautiful berries (see the picture below). A few other choices worth mentioning are Tupelo Honey, Jardin Eatery, Travinia Italian Kitchen, PF Chang's or the Brass Tap. Round out the day with shops such as Anthropologie, Orvis, The Southern Living Store, Manifest Design or Two Brothers Wood Works.
