Develop your skills on and for grade 4 white water while learn some of the lines on the river Moriston & Garry.

This course is designed to support people looking to become more confident and learn some of the lines on the River Morison while developing a better understanding of white water and work on their paddle technique.

You may have been on the river before or you might be new to the Moriston and want to be part of a happy, supportive team that helps you feel safe and confident for your first run down the river. We will spend the first 2 days working on building your confidence on the more challenging rapids of the Moriston before heading to the river Garry on day 3 looking at how we can use grade 2 & 3 rapids to help develop and consolidate the skills learned from the Moriston.

We recommend folk have a fairly reliable white water roll to get the most out of this course with plenty of grade 3 experience and some experience on set piece grade 4 rapids like the ones found on the Etive, Orchy, Findhorn, Tummel. Day 1 - Meeting Location will be at Glen Rowan Cafe in Invermoriston for 10am. You can grab a fantastic coffee and breakfast here while we meet and great each other.

Day 2 - We usually try and meet for a dawn start at 7am to make the most of the water before the taps turn off at 10/11am depending on which sections of the river we are working on.

Day 3 - 9am at whitebridge carpark for the river Garry.

We recommend accommodation around Fort Augustus for this course. Here you will find hostels, camping and hotels. There is a great chippy and plenty of pubs to choose from too.
