About your trip

This trip will take you on an amazing journey to the places where the Apostle Paul and his fellow workers brought the gospel of Jesus Christ into Greece!  We will visit places like Mars Hill, The Acropolis, Corinth, Berea, Thessalonica, the ancient port of Neapolis, Philippi, and so much more! You won't want to miss these amazing biblical sites, the beautiful countryside, and the incredible food that Greece has to offer! This tour will be for those who have a heart to learn and know more about the biblical history that took place in Greece!


Before signing up, all goup participants must be approved for this tour by group leader Bud Wenzel from Rock Academy.  Please email: bud.wenzel@sdrock.com for approval.
Space is available for students first.  Any unused spots may be offered to parents.  Parents interested in going are welcome to email Mr. Wenzel to be put on a wait list.  Bud.wenzel@sdrock.com

Tour payments are nonrefundable.  Travel insurance is advised.  If you are based in the US, we can help you obtain a travel insurance policy if you email Tabitha@AdoptionAirfare.com, or you can also use THIS LINK to obtain your travel insurance policy.  It is important to purchase travel insurance within 1 week of paying your initial deposit.


Deposit of $500 per participant, is due at sign up and before 25SEP2024.

Payment of $1500 is due by 15DEC2024

Payment of $2000 is due by 01MAR2025

Final Balance of the tour is due 01MAR2025

Tour Hosting

This tour is hosted by Hineni Tours, a branch of Adoption Airfare®, a full service travel agency for missions and adoption travel.

The hotels for this tour are 4 and 5 star accommodations. You won't be disappointed!

Biblical Focused Guide

Each day we will be led by our biblical focused tour guide to all of the sites. This guide will be speaking English on the tour but will also be fluent in Greek as well.

Land Transportation

All land transportation is provided including transfer to and from the airport. This vehicle will be a motorcoach equipped with wifi and air conditioning. An English Speaking assistant to accompany.

Charter Bus to LAX

Air travel departs and returns to LAX. Charter bus to and from the airport is included.

Airfare

Group Airfare is included in the cost of this tour. You will be part of a group of airfare tickets and seats for group bookings are done at the airport. Group tickets must check in together.

Entrance fees to sites

All entrance fees to sites are included

Headsets

Whisper Headsets are included to be able to hear the guide at all of the sites.

Drivers Porterage

You will be allowed to take 1 checked bag per person up to 23Kg and 1 handheld luggage.

What's not included

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included but you can contact Tabitha@AdoptionAirfare.com for a link to set up an insurance package to go with your tour.

Personal Expenses

All personal expenses including lunch and anything not mentioned above, will be each persons responsibilty.

Tips and Gratuities

Tips and gratuities to the guide and driver and hotel staff are not included.

Valid Passport

A valid Passport will be required - passport must be good at least 6 months after the end date of this tour for you to be eligible to go.

Excess Baggage

Any excess baggage over the limit listed above will not be possible to include. Please condense baggage to be in these limits.

Day 1 - April 6

ATHENS ARRIVAL

DAY 1: SUNDAY 6th APRIL: ATHENS ARRIVAL

Upon arrival at Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", meet our local representative who will assist  with your transfer to the hotel. Enjoy an orientation panoramic tour of the city, before check-in at 3:00pm. Your  journey to the Biblical land of Greece begins! Dinner & overnight at hotel. 

Day 2 - April 7

ATHENS CITY TOUR – MARS’ HILL - AGORA

DAY 2: MONDAY 7th APRIL: ATHENS CITY TOUR – MARS’ HILL - AGORA 

Buffet breakfast at hotel. In the morning, we climb up to the marble-capped Acropolis Hill and visit the famous  Parthenon and Erechtheion Temples. Then walk to nearby Mars' Hill (Areopagus) (Acts 17:22) where Paul  delivered his soul-stirring sermon to the giants of philosophy, logic and learning and spoke about the inscription:  “to an unknown god”. We continue our tour with a walk around the Ancient Agora of Athens before the  panoramic sightseeing of the city highlights. Enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure in Plaka, the oldest  and most picturesque district of Athens. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

ANCIENT CORINTH TOUR

DAY 3: TUESDAY 8th APRIL: ANCIENT CORINTH TOUR 

Buffet breakfast at hotel. Today we depart for our morning tour out of Athens. Driving along the Saronic Gulf,  we enjoy a quick photo stop at the historic Corinth Canal. Continue to Corinth archaeological site (Acts 18:1-18)  where the Apostle Paul lived and worked, establishing a thriving church, subsequently sending two of his  epistles, now part of the New Testament. Here, we see all of the sites associated with his ministry: the Agora,  the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon, the Bema and Gallio’s Seat. The small local archaeological museum is  an absolute must! Return to Athens in the afternoon. Evening will be free to explore the historical and modern  center of the city. Dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 4 - April 9

ATHENS – DELPHI – KALAMBAKA

DAY 4: WEDNESDAY 9th APRIL: ATHENS – DELPHI – KALAMBAKA 

Buffet breakfast at hotel. Check-out. At 8:00am we start our drive to the Oracle of Delphi, considered to be the  center of the ancient world, whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic world. We visit  the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians and the archaeological museum, containing such  masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture, such as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Our  journey continues to Kalambaka, one of the most beautiful towns in Greece. Check-in at the hotel in Kalambaka followed by dinner & overnight.  

Day 5 - April 10

METEORA MONASTERIES - BEREA – THESSALONKI

DAY 5: THURSDAY 10th APRIL: METEORA MONASTERIES - BEREA – THESSALONICA  Buffet breakfast at hotel. Check-out. In the morning visit to the spectacular Meteora monasteries, a UNESCO  World Heritage site built on the top of huge gray boulders. These are veritable Byzantine monasteries, exhibiting  superb icons and manuscripts from the 14th century. After our visit, continue on to Berea (Acts 17:10-15) where  the apostle Paul arrived and according to his custom, went to the synagogue and discovered ‘to his pleasant  surprise’ that these Jews he had encountered in Thessalonica were "searching the scriptures". We see the  Byzantine mosaic in the monument commemorating his preaching (Acts 17:10-11). Continue to Thessalonica in  late afternoon for check-in, dinner & overnight stay. 

Day 6 - April 11

THESSALONICA - PHILIPPI – KAVALA

DAY 6: FRIDAY 11th APRIL: THESSALONICA - PHILIPPI – KAVALA – THESSALONICA

Buffet breakfast at hotel. On our way to Philippi, we drive by the Lion statue of Amphipolis (short stop for  photos). We visit Philippi, the site where Paul established a strong church and sent his letter (Acts 16:9-33). We  see the river where Lydia is said to have been baptized, the ruins of a prison where the Apostle Paul and Sylas  had been kept, the Agora, 5th and 6th century Basilica and the Theater. After the visit, we continue to Kavala,  the ancient port of Neapolis (Acts 16:11) where we enjoy a panoramic tour before we return to the hotel in  Thessalonica. Dinner & overnight. 

Day 7 - April 12

THESSALONICA – ATHENS

DAY 7: SATURDAY 12th APRIL: THESSALONICA – ATHENS 

Buffet breakfast at hotel. Check-out. Before our departure for Athens, we enjoy a city tour of Thessalonica (Acts  17:1) where Paul went immediately to the synagogue and for three Saturdays explained the prophecies of the  Old Testament to Jews and Greeks. According to the Book of the Acts, many Greeks and even many «Greek chief  women» believed (Acts 17:1-4). We go to the upper Old City Walls, then drive along the Egnatian Way to see  the Triumphal Arch of Galerius and the Rotunda. After the visit, journey back to Athens, where we arrive in the  evening at the hotel. Check-in. Dinner & overnight. 

Day 8 - April 13

ATHENS DEPARTURE

DAY 8: SUNDAY 13th APRIL: ATHENS DEPARTURE 

Buffet breakfast at the hotel or breakfast box provided by the hotel (depending on your departure flight  schedule). Check-out. After witnessing a unique visual and historical experience of the Old and New Testament  sites in Greece, this Biblical journey in Greece has come to an end. You will be transferred to Athens  International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” for your departure flight home.
