About this trip

Root to Rise Brazil Yoga Retreat ☀️

Nov 6–12, 2026

📍Itamambuca Beach, São Paulo

If you’ve been craving sunshine, ocean air, meaningful movement, and a week that feels truly alive… this is your invitation!

I’m Brazilian, and this retreat is taking place in a place I used to visit almost every other weekend with family and friends before moving to the US in 2018, and I'm now so excited to share this special place with you!

Think daily yoga, meditation, and self-discovery practices, surfing your first wave, hiking to waterfalls hidden within the Atlantic Rainforest, kayaking along the Itamambuca River while spotting colorful birds native to the region, exploring Ubatuba's breathtaking islands by boat, nourishing meals, meaningful conversations, new friendships, and plenty of time to slow down, recharge, and reconnect with yourself.

All of this takes place in the heart of Brazil's Atlantic Rainforest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, where jungle, river, and ocean meet in a truly extraordinary landscape.

For 7 days and 6 nights, we'll move, rest, explore, laugh, connect, and experience the very best of Brazil together.

And if you're coming solo, you're in good company. Many retreat guests do, and quickly leave feeling like they've known each other for years :) so no need to be shy!

What our days together will look like

Our week together will have some days more adventurous, others slower and more spacious.

Mornings begin with yoga and mindfulness to ground into the day, followed by a nourishing breakfast, and throughout the week, we’ll explore the beauty of Itamambuca and the surrounding coastline with waterfall hikes, a beginner-friendly surf lesson, kayaking along the river to the beach, and a full day on the water exploring islands and hidden coastal spots.

We’ll also gather for a Root to Rise self-discovery workshop, a guided space to pause, reflect, journal, and reconnect with what feels true for you right now.

Afternoons are intentionally open. Time to enjoy the river just steps from the villa, nap, walk or bike to the beach or waterfall, book an extra massage, hop on an Uber to another nearby beach, walk into the village for a snack, coffee, or ice cream, or simply lie in a hammock and let yourself slow down.

Evenings bring a mix of yin and restorative yoga, shared meals, a few dinners out in town, stargazing, and meaningful conversations around the fire.

We’ll close the week with a Root to Rise celebration together, followed by a gentle final morning practice and one more breakfast before heading back home.

Our home in Itamambuca

The Villa we're staying at sits in the heart of Itamambuca, surrounded by lush Atlantic rainforest, just a short walk from the beach and the river. It’s the kind of place where people naturally slow down without even trying, where the sound of birds, ocean air, and the forest around you create an atmosphere that feels calm, grounded, and easy to settle into.

The space is designed for connection, rest, movement, and time in nature. You can expect open-air spaces, a spacious yoga shala, cozy corners to journal or relax, and that feeling of being close to the elements while still comfortable and cared for.

Rooms feel cozy and airy, with comfortable beds, soft pillows, private bathrooms, ceiling fans, AC, and greenery all around, inviting you to slow down and take in the jungle views.

Who This Retreat Is For

This is a small retreat on purpose, with a maximum of 8 people, so it stays intimate, grounded, and easy to feel at home in. The group is usually a mix of people in their late 20s to early 40s, and most guests come solo, though friends or family are always welcome too.

Yoga and surf sessions are open to all levels. If you’ve never tried before, you’ll be supported and guided step by step. And if you already have a practice, you’ll have space to deepen your experience and explore new layers of the practice.

Some people come for adventure, others for rest, others for clarity, or simply to spend time in nature, get to know a new country and culture, and step into a different rhythm for a few days.

During free time, if you feel like being social, there will always be someone to walk to the beach with, grab a coffee, or explore the village, including me. And if what you need is quiet, a hammock, or a slow afternoon by the river, that’s just as natural here 🙂.

✈️ Getting There

Please plan to fly into São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and arrive on Nov 6th in the morning (from 8:30-10am). Depending on where you’re coming from, you will most likely depart your country on Nov 5th.

A group transfer from São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) to Itamambuca is included and will leave in the late morning, so please book a flight that lands by 10 AM to join it comfortably.

If you arrive on the 6th after 10:30am, transportation to the villa can still be arranged, but it is not included in the retreat price.

If your travel route feels long, you’re welcome to arrive in São Paulo a day earlier to rest, and you can meet our transfer at GRU Airport on Nov 6th at 10:30 AM to head together to Itamambuca.

The drive to the villa takes about 2.5 to 3 hours through beautiful coastline and mountain views, and it’s part of the transition into nature and a slower pace. So enjoy the ride!

In October we’ll have a live Zoom gathering where I’ll guide you through the E-visa process, collect flight details, and share travel tips so you feel clear and prepared.
