Cuyabeno River Lodge Has sponsored tourism and scientific research in the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin since the creation of the lodge and the establishment of the reserve in 1979. We are the direct operators of Cuyabeno River Lodge and protect the most fragile zone of the Cuyabeno National Reserve. We will begin to rowing the Cuyabeno river until we reach Paso del Tigre, where we will have a short walk of approximately two hours where we may be lucky enough to see Pecares. When we return to the canoe, we will have the opportunity to fish for piranhas, and we will go deeper into the jungle, we will arrive at the Canangueno lagoon, where, more at night, we will have a night walk to observe caimans; We will spend the night in the lagoon. We will continue on our journey until we reach the Laguna Grande; which is the natural habitat of various species of animals, such as pink and gray dolphins, river turtles, and the elusive anaconda. We will find a suitable place to have lunch and rest for a while. And we will continue our trip through Cuyabeno, until we reach the Siona community in Puerto Bolívar, where we will be able to see their customs and experience their way of making food, assisting in the manufacture of cassava or casabe bread. Then we will go down the river where we will camp for the night.
We will go along the river until we reach ; where we will have a short walk through this almost untouched part of Cuyabeno, and we will go bird watching in the river. We will observe the pink dolphins along the river and they will be able to swim in it. We will camp in Montufar to spend the night.
