Your experience of this enchanting kingdom begins with a flight over the Himalaya into the Paro valley, truly one of life’s most spectacular sights. You will view the world’s highest, most majestic peaks and enjoy the view of the approaching valley with its primeval alpine forests, monasteries, temples, and farmhouses nestled in splendid mountain isolation.
Your Bhutan Visa will then be stamped in your passport on arrival at Paro International Airport. After clearing customs & immigration, your Bhutanese Guide will greet you at the welcome gate and drive to Thimphu.
Later in the afternoon, visit Tashichhodzong, or the fortress of glorious religion, which was built in 1641. The Dzong was later rebuilt by the third king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, in 1965. Tashichhodzong is Bhutan’s administrative and religious centre and houses the throne room of His Majesty the king, Government ministries, the nation’s largest monastery, and the headquarters of his holiness the Je Khenpo and the monk body.
