About this trip

Are you a lover of all things Royal? Do your invitations to royal weddings keep getting lost in the mail? (I know mine do!)

Here's your chance to hit all the Royal London highlights - including a tour of Buckingham Palace (which is only available in the summer when the Queen is on vacation). In addition, we will visit Kensington Palace - where Queen Victoria grew up, Princess Diana lived from the time of her marriage to her death, and two future kings live now.  Hampton Court Palace is most closely associated with Henry VIII, as he brought all six of his queens there.  Windsor Castle is the place that the present Queen really thinks of as her home.  It’s the largest and longest occupied castle in the world.  We also tour Westminster Abbey (the site of every monarch’s coronation since 1066) and St. Paul’s Cathedral, where Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married.

After a train ride to Edinburgh (First Class, of course!), we will explore the Royal Mile from top (imposing Edinburgh Castle) to bottom (Holyrood Palace, where the Queen hangs her crown when she’s in town).  We’ll visit the decommissioned Royal Yacht Britannia too.

You get a Royal Goodie Bag too - because you’re worth it!

Itinerary

DAY 1, FRIDAY
ARRIVE IN LONDON!

After your flight lands, you go through customs, then follow the signs to the Underground Station in the airport. You will already have your Oyster card and here’s only one direction to go so that’s simple! You take the Tube to Earls Court Station and take a short walk to the hotel. I will meet you there and help you get checked in.

There will be time to get settled, take a shower, a nap, or go for a bit of a walk. We have dinner at the nearby Blackbird Pub in Earls Court. Steak & ale pie? Fish & chips? Veggie options too. (Believe me, bad British food is a myth!)

Sheila Stone Tours
I’m Sheila Stone and I love travel so much that I started a tour company when I was 60. (Have I mentioned that I’m also a late bloomer?) I create and lead small groups of women to interesting places like London, Scotland, Ireland & Japan. I have some tours in The States too. In addition to the usual sightseeing, my tours give women an opportunity to meet local women. By staying in small hotels and eating at family restaurants as much as possible, our travel money stays in the communities we visit. A fun way to meet like-minded women!

The Wild About Harry Tour was amazing! My kids and I had a fantastic time. Sheila was great in making sure we saw as much of Harry Potter that London and Oxford have to offer, and she was also helpful in getting us to see the cities and planning our side trip to Paris. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that we will never forget, and we talk about constantly. Thank you!

Thoroughly enjoyed my Bayou trip with tour host Sheila and local host Andrina. Great mix of fun sights including Mardi Gras museum, local food, shopping, bars and music in NOLA. A powerful Whitney plantation visit. Andrina hosted a traditional crawfish boil and an amazing get together with women of the local area representing the various cultures of the region. Felt like visiting with friends and family. Highly recommend this trip! Sheila is a great guide and trip planner.
