About this trip

Grab a National Parks Annual Pass for the best access to The Mighty 5.

The way to Moab from Highway 191 turns out to be slowly —and then quickly — visually dramatic. This is red stone country. Each new street uncovers new common marvels: the far off stone monuments of Monument Valley, the rising dividers of Capitol Reef, the hoodoos of Red Canyon or the abrupt appearance of Zion's profound gorge from high on the east edge. This incredible excursion through Utah's public parks is the most ideal approach to pause and take everything in. Appreciate every snapshot of rest. There's a lot more yet to see.

What makes up The Best Trip of Your Life? How about we run the numbers for this one: five public parks, two public landmarks, five beautiful drives including one All-American Road, two public backwoods and up to six state parks, including the photogenic Dead Horse Point and Kodachrome Basin.

From the beginning stage in Moab you'll investigate Arches and Canyonlands public parks before an excursion through ancient times south to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. You'll have the choice to see Natural Bridges National Monument or save additional time for the Land of the Sleeping Rainbow: Capitol Reef National Park.

At that point, things get outrageously fascinating. It's Utah's All-American Road Scenic Byway 12 from Capitol Reef to Bryce Canyon. In excess of 100 miles of novel scenes over Boulder Mountain through Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument and up the high level to the amphitheaters of Bryce Canyon.

The excursion closes in the desert southwest of Utah, where the slickrock level meets the Mojave Desert and the Virgin River keeps on making a scene of entrancing experience in Zion National Park.
