About this trip

The poetic Northern Italian Lakes district is a place of romance and has been a playground of the glitterati for decades. Lake Como is framed against a delightful backdrop of majestic mountains that seem to slide into the water, hidden by deep blue shadows, except for the high peaks awash in apricot alpenglow. The towns and the opulent villas lining the water's edge seem to float on the mirror smooth lake, as they echo a bygone era and the mild climate supports the vibrant colors of Alpine wildflowers and lush semi-tropical gardens cascading down to the lake. Nowhere else do stunning scenery, mellow air and rich history come together with such romantic results.

It was my first Sights and Souls trip. It was a step up in every aspect from my previous tours. 1st class hotels/restaurants and food. Marta was a wonderful tour guide. The only suggestion I would have -on the day of the wine tour in Sydney, I would have rather gone to the Blue Mountains or at least had that option. Thank you.

Dear Sandy, Thank you so much for the kind review! And your feedback on the itinerary is much appreciated, as we are always looking to improve. It is a balancing act when we are deciding what to include and what to skip, as of course Australia is a large country and it is impossible to see it all. We will be sure to pass along your compliments to Marta; we are lucky to have her as a tour director. We hope to see you again soon on another Sights and Soul tour.

The tour was very well-organized. Foods were great and accommodations were comfortable. Both the local guides in Vietnam and Cambodia were excellent especially Canh in Vietnam. Canh worked very hard to try to make us feel welcoming and learn the culture and history of his country. Marlene, as usual, was fun and worked diligently to ensure our needs were being taken care of. The motor bike foods tour was both fun and exciting. Personally, I think the food tour was too long for me. But most people seemed to enjoy it. I enjoyed the northern part of Vietnam the most. I also enjoyed the visit to Angkor Wat. It was a little bit overwhelming to see so many old temples in couple days. Overall, I think it was a great trip.

Dear Janifer, Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour. The motorbike food tour is certainly an adventure, and we truly appreciate your insight on its length. It was a pleasure having you on this journey, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure soon!

This was an amazing trip. New Zealand is so beautiful. The group was lovely and I was able to catch up with some old travel companions. Marta was the best Tour Leader! Already planning my next trip with Sights and Souls Travel.

Our group of 14 women quickly bonded and we enjoyed the experience together immensely. Marlene is a joy and a wonderful leader. Thailand was wonderful and we travelled quite a bit from Bangkok to Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai and then to Phuket. The temples were enchanting and the Elephant rescue was a highlight. The island hopping, snorkeling and swimming near the monkeys was priceless. Loved Lao and Luang Prabang. The constant fires did make it hard to breathe but being on the Meykong River was wonderful, so was the night market and Alms to the Monks. A wonderful trip all and all.

New Zealand is a beautiful country filled with incredible landscapes and friendly people! This was a fabulous trip. The S&S itinerary was filled with diverse activities that covered a range of culture, adventure, and sightseeing. The accommodations were very nice and always in perfect locations. The group of ladies was lovely and the guide, Marta, was outstanding. Marta tended to all the details and went out of her way to do every little extra thing she could to make our trip truly special.

I recently finished the South Africa, Zimbabwe,, Botswana trip in December, 2024. It was a trip of a lifetime. I have traveled on many international trips with Sights and Soul (as well as several other tour groups so I have a comparison) and they consistently have an itinerary that visits the major points of interest in a region. Days are full, transportation is efficient, local tour guides are well informed and very open to sharing the history and culture of their country with visitors. Kerry was our tour guide , and one reason that I chose this tour was that I had previously traveled with her to Viet Nam. She is calm, gracious and experienced. Two of the ladies experienced acute illness, and she arranged discrete treatment from local physicians. Flights on one leg of the tour were cancelled because of strikes by the ground crew in Johannesburg. Kerry and our South African tour guide got us rescheduled on another airline later in the day so that we would not miss any part of the safari experience, which is the highlight of this trip. She arranged for us to wait in an airport lounge area with free food and drinks. Sights and Soul Travel is a tightly run organization that does everything possible to make their trips run smoothly. Kerry is a credit to this company and is the type of experienced tour guide that can manage the challenges of supervising a group through the joy and excitement, but also the stressful situations that arise with international travel.
