Sacred Landscapes of Nyin Valley, Humla – 12 Days

Day 01–02 – Arrival & Kathmandu Heritage

You arrive in Kathmandu and settle into the rhythm of the valley. Over two days you visit key sacred sites—such as Swayambhu, Boudhanath, or Pashupatinath—while also preparing for travel to remote Humla. Evenings include briefings on Nyinba culture, the mandala layout of their villages, and the purpose-driven approach of this journey.

Day 03–04 – Fly Kathmandu → Nepalgunj → Simikot (2,950 m)

You fly first to Nepalgunj and then on to Simikot, stepping from hot plains into crisp mountain air. These two days allow gentle acclimatization and short walks around Simikot’s ridges, markets, and monasteries. You begin to sense Humla’s mixture of Khasa Hindu, Bon, and Buddhist traditions—and the old path that still leads toward West Tibet.

Day 05–10 – Trek Simikot–Torpa, Ralling Monastery & Sacred Sites, Homestays, Return to Simikot

Over six days you trek through Nyinba villages and fields, following ancient trails lined with chortens, prayer flags, and cliff-side caves. You visit Ralling monastery, explore sacred caves and local ritual sites, and stay in simple homestays where daily life still follows agricultural and ritual cycles. Participating in local festivals or evening gatherings—when timing allows—you experience songs, hearth-fires, and stories that rarely appear in guidebooks. The journey is not rushed; we move slowly, respecting altitude and local pace, before gradually returning to Simikot.

Day 11–12 – Fly Simikot → Nepalgunj → Kathmandu, Departure

You retrace your air route back to Nepalgunj and Kathmandu. The final hours are kept flexible: a last shared meal, a debrief circle on what this valley has taught, and then departure—or onward journeys for those who wish to stay longer in Nepal.

This is very much “treks with purpose” story: remote Humla villages, old trade trails, sky-burial hillsides, chortens, and the quiet, steady presence of the Nyin (Niin) Valley. Instead of racing for passes, the focus is on slow walking, conversations with locals, homestays, and cultural history—a flagship Tailored Treks journey.
