Full description of Sacred Valley To Machu Picchu Tour

Day 1: Cusco – Pisaq – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes.

You will be picked up at your hotel at 8:00 am and drive towards Awanacancha alpaca farm; here, visit the llamas, alpacas, guanacos, and vicuñas. Your guide will explain the importance and the diference between them. The next stop is Mirador of Taray, where you’ll have the best views of Sacred Valley, the Urubamba River, and the snow-capped Andes Mountains. After taking plenty of photographs, continue to the Pisaq Inca site, a vast complex located on top of Pisaq mountain, here you’ll visit the largest cemetery of the Inca Empire, impressive farming terraces, and the homes of the Incas. From here, continue your tour to the colorful market of Pisaq, famous because of its handicraft shops where locals produce and sell their textiles. Bargain in the market then drives for one hour to Urubamba, where lunch is served in a local restaurant using fresh products from the area, dietary options available.

After enjoying the buffet-style meals, drive to Ollantaytambo, a city continuously inhabited since the 14th century, with cobble-stone streets where locals are still using the same doorways and water running Inca Times. Also, it’s outstanding the visit to the fortress of Ollantaytambo to see the temples. Later enjoy dinner to later board the train to Aguas Calientes. Spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2: Discover Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

This day is the most important day of your trip; wake up early, enjoy breakfast in your hotel, and take the first buses to Machu Picchu. When you reach the main entrance, you need to show the original passport and begin the 3-hour guided tour. First, start with a short hike to Sungate or Inca Bridge, then you’ll follow your expert guide to the most important places in Machu Picchu; visiting the stone temple, palaces, altars, and learn the history of the Incas. At the end of the guided tour, take some time to discover Machu Picchu on your own, or you can take the optional hikes to Huayna Picchu Mounatin or Machu Picchu Mountain (Different form Machu Picchu Citadel, not included).

When you finish with Machu Picchu, take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, have lunch in the city (not included), and take the Vistadome Panoramic train back to Ollantaytambo, where the Ultimate Trekking team will be waiting for you to transfer you back to Cusco. Drop off at your hotel at 7.30 pm.
