INCA TRAIL TREK
3 nights, 4 days traveling the Inca Trail up to Machu Picchu, led by experienced guides from a well-reputed
Peruvian guide company.
*Limited space available. Due to our trek to Machu Picchu, advanced booking is required for this trip. Permits to trek sell out many months in advance and need to be booked specifically for you. Registration for this trip will close at the end of December 2016, so please plan ahead. An advanced non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your space. Visit or Shipping and Policies page to familiarize yourself with our retreat policies.
Visit the Salineras, pre-Inca salt mines created during the Chanapata Culture (AD 200 to AD 900). A sight to be hold, these 5,000 salt ponds are all fed by a single stream. A network of channels feeds the water into each pond, which evaporates and leaves a crust of salt.
See the ruins at Moray, a captivating example of Inca ingenuity. The earth has been carved into levels or stairs of depths of up to 100 feet (sometimes more), with temperatures between some layers differing by more than 20 degrees. Some researchers believe the Incas may have used this space as a huge agricultural experiment, to see how certain crops grow in differing climates.
Explore the Sacsahuaman, an incredible Inca ruin overlooking the city of Cusco. Composed of huge stones carefully pieced together, some weighing thousands of pounds each, this site is thought to have been either a retreat or fortress for royalty.
Take part in a traditional Despacho ceremony, an ancient prayer offering to Pachamama (earth mother).
Sightsee in the ancient city of Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca empire. View the collision of Spanish and Incan cultures as you visit the Plaza de Armas or the ruins of the Incan palace Quirikancha.
Get to know PIsac, a beautiful village located by the Willkanuta River, and visit its colorful shops and weekly market.
*These are all included in your retreat price. Meals are included for most group outings. These outings are subject to change depending on the size of the group. We will keep you posted on any alterations to the itinerary.
