Join us for an 8-day / 7-night immersive Sādhanā yoga retreat in Sri Lanka, September 21 – 28, 2026.

Sādhanā is the foundation of yoga. It is the daily practice that shapes how we live, think, feel, and move through the world. It is the path back to truth, to clarity, to who you are beneath all conditioning.

The difference between doing yoga and living it is Sādhanā. Subtle, yet profound, and something we begin to understand when we step away from our day-to-day routine and give ourselves the space to study, breathe, meditate, and truly commit.

This week is an invitation to experience that for yourself in the middle of the jungle on the sacred island of Sri Lanka. Through consistent daily practice, philosophy, and self-inquiry, we'll begin the journey back to ourselves, and understand how to embody yoga from deep within.

Sri Lanka holds a deeply spiritual energy, closely connected to the roots of yoga and Eastern philosophy. Throughout the week, we will honour these traditions, explore devotion as a practice, visit local temples, and reflect on how to connect not only to sacred spaces around us, but to the temple within.

This is a space for those who are ready to go deeper. Not just to practice yoga, but to live it.

What our days will look like

Our days follow the rhythm of a traditional Sadhana, similar to what one might practice during a period of seclusion or on a deeper spiritual journey.

Mornings start early and remain silent and screen-free. We begin with meditation, followed by a deep and complete on-the-mat practice with real transformational potential.

The days are anchored by workshops that explore philosophy, self-inquiry, and the deeper layers of practice, going beyond asana and into aspects of Karma, Bhakti, Jñana, and Raja Yoga. Some days are intentionally left open for rest or exploration, allowing you to visit temples, spend time in nature, go surfing, or experience the beaches and cafés of Ahangama. There is structure, yes, but also space, so you can experience Sadhana in stillness and within daily life.

Evenings close the day with a slower, more restorative practice, or devotional gatherings such as kirtan, supporting integration and deep rest.

Where we will live

We’ll stay at a secluded sanctuary nestled amongst paddy fields with jungle views, just a 20-minute walk from the vibrant beach town of Ahangama.

Flow Ground is both beautiful and grounding, with thoughtfully designed spaces that support every part of the experience. There are two dedicated shalas, one indoor and one open-air, a swimming pool, and a variety of shared and quiet spaces where you can retreat, reflect, or connect with others.

Surrounded by nature, yet close enough to the ocean and local life, it offers the perfect balance between immersion and exploration.

Food for soul

Food is part of the practice. We’ll be nourished with 3 daily plant-based meals inspired by authentic Sri Lankan flavours and seasonal ingredients.

During the week, we’ll share a traditional Sri Lankan cooking class and a guided food meditation, bringing awareness not only to what we eat, but how we eat.

All dietary requirements can be accommodated.

Who this is for

This retreat is for you if you're

  • feeling ready to go deeper

  • curious about yoga beyond the physical practice

  • open to self-inquiry, discipline, and honest reflection

  • looking for both structure and space

No advanced physical practice is required, but a an open mind is.

Who this is not for

If you’re looking for a purely relaxing holiday or a surface-level yoga experience, this may not be the right fit.

This retreat is not designed as a travel itinerary, and we won’t dedicate full days to exploring Sri Lanka as a group. If you’d like to explore Sri Lanka more deeply, we suggest adding a few extra days before or after the retreat.
