Join us for an 8 day, 7 night yoga safari retreat in Ol Pejeta Conservancy!
Reconnect to the heart of the wilderness by enjoying unlimited guided game drives, as well as diving deeper into the physical, mental and spiritual elements of the yoga practice within one of the country's most breathtaking areas.
100% of the proceeds from this retreat will be donated to Go Light Our World (GLOW)’s solar projects in Kenya. Not only will you be investing in a life-changing experience for yourself in a beautiful location; but you will also be giving back to impoverished communities within this same country, as well.
Please understand that every game drive, yoga class and excursion is OPTIONAL. This retreat is your OWN. We ask of you to please listen to your body first before sticking to the itinerary we've created.
Understand that if you choose to participate in EVERY game drive, class and excursion- you will likely leave this retreat with less energy than when you came! We simply offer sunrise and sunset game drives daily because these are the best times to see the animals.
We have 3 vehicles for our group. This means there is A LOT of flexibility. It's best to be open and communicative prior to starting the game drive about whether you prefer to stay out for a short or a long session. This way, we can organize into each car according to individual needs, and everyone can be as happy and comfortable as possible.
It's important to note that although you are just sitting in a car during game drives- they can still be quite exhausting! The roads are unpaved, and can get very rough (which is why having a nice stretch after is perfect!).
Each of the excursions also involves several additional hours of car time. So, if you're feeling burnt out from a lot of sitting, and would rather stick to watching the animals, feel free to stay behind!
Most people assume because we'll be located right on the equator in Africa, it must be scorching hot.
This is only partially true.
The early mornings and evenings are COLD, so please pack layered clothing accordingly.
During the day, we have higher chances of rain in April, but it will also stay much warmer than the dry season. When there's no rain, the midday sun is scorching.
Please come prepared with plenty of sunscreen, a hat, and rehydration salts.
Just because it's hot, doesn't necessarily mean you'll want to be uncovered. Most people find it cooler to have light, loose pants and/or long sleeve tops.
Although it will be the rainy season during the retreat, this means there will be plenty of baby animals to be seen, lush vegetation, fewer people in the park, and incredible moody skies for sunset.
It also means the roads can be even more rough, and visibility can be lower with the long grass and small creatures.
Either way- we have hot showers, log fires to warm up with in every cottage, and hot water bottles in the our beds and in our safari vehicles for those cold mornings and evenings!
We will send a specific suggested packing list closer to the departure date.
