About this trip

Join San Francisco-based yoga teacher  Peter Walters on luxury sailing yachts, cruising and flowing through the Aegean Sea, drinking in all of what the Greek Islands have to offer.

Ever dreamed of exploring  the islands of Greece...on a boat? While practicing yoga each day? And eating amazing food? Exploring and hiking? Living aboard a sailing yacht with new friends? Well, if you answered yes to all of these questions, then this may be the adventure for you!

The northern parts of the Dodecanese Islands offer a variety of landscapes and experiences, both rich in beauty and history. Kalymnos is famous as a sponge-divers island;Patmos has been a destination for Christian pilgrimage since John the Apostle (also known as ‘John of Patmos); The small island of Leipsoi is renowned for it’s local wine, fish and cheese.

These islands belong to a world and history of great  myth and magic, bearing witness to the grandeur of the numerous civilizations that chose to live here. A world where the sun appears as a daily painter of landscapes and the Sea reverberates in a myriad of shades to give birth to Life.

During our week together you’ll get soak in both a rich inner and outer experience. You can expect daily yoga, seated meditation, and mantra (chanting)  practices with amazing views, new islands to explore everyday, crystal clear waters,, hikes, Greek culture and ancient ruins,, healthy Mediterranean food and more! You'll be immersed (and amazed) by the ocean‘s kind embrace as we saunter (on the water) around the Aegean Sea.

*Please Note: You will be living aboard a 50-100 foot sailboat for a week with 12+ other people. Quarters are cozy, and you won't have a lot  of personal space. While this boat and the experience will indeed be luxurious, life at sea and living on boats can be challenging for some people and personalities. Please keep this in mind and be honest with yourself for how you might do in this type of environment. You can't really just go for a walk to be alone, though we will be on land each day. This experience  requires patience, kindness, compromise, and a willingness to open up a bit and really be part of this crew of seafaring yogis. There is plenty of communal space to sit on-deck in the shade and also relax below deck. Does this sound like a good fit for you?

**ITINERARY: This is a tentative itineray  it and subject to change based on timing, weather, and the captain's recommendations.

* In the evening, from about 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm we will have our second yoga practice. (The times vary depending on season and schedule.).

After the yoga around 8:00pm you’ll be served a sumptuous dinner of traditional Greek and Turkish dishes.

We had a truly fantastic experience!!! The Farm was great - the farmhouse itself was beautiful and the grounds were stunning and very peaceful. The length of the retreat was perfect - just the right amount of time to really feel a world away from life's stresses and make meaningful connections. The people who attended were all so special. Ages ranged from 23 to 67 and everyone connected in a unique and honest way. Peter & Leia both have a very special gift for teaching, guiding and creating a space for thoughtfulness, gratitude, presence, sharing and joy. What a TREAT is was!!!
I'm a firm believer you are placed with people at a certain moment in time for a reason. This retreat was just what my body and soul needed. A beautiful setting at The Farm, acres to explore, shady trees to curl up and read or nap under, nourishing food, and so much more. Leila, our Farm host ~ delightful! Her family's home Farm was a true place of serenity and healing. Remembering the frogs humming to the harmonium at the beginning of practice out by the pond....adding to this peaceful place Peter and Leia's guidance, a true blessing. So grateful to have shared this experience and looking forward to more with all involved! Jai ma!
I had a great time! Peter's energy is infectious and I love the playfulness that he brings into class. The food was scrumptious (and the kitchen was very accommodating) and my yurt was very comfortable. I loved the outdoor showers!
I had a lovely experience. Every detail was thought thru and beautiful from the flow of each class individually and progression thru the week, and the music was magic! The staff at the space were lovely all and the food was great. This experience with Peter created the space for us to go as deep or light as we wanted. Either way the connections made were pretty special.
I cannot wait to go again!! Such a wonderful week, with incredible people!! Thank you so much to Hawaii Island Retreat too, for taking such good care of us!!!
