      About this trip

      My1FitLife Salmon Whitewater Rafting Adventure

Known as the “River of No Return” by early explorers, the Salmon is a big mountain river. It has big water with spring flows rivaling that of Colorado’s Grand Canyon and big, fun, roller-coaster style rapids; a big, incredibly beautiful, river corridor set in a massive wilderness with peaks rising over a mile above the river; huge sandy beaches shaded by towering pine and fir trees; big side creeks full of trout (creeks that would be called rivers in many parts of the world); a long history full of big personalities, characters, and stories; a ton of wildlife including Big Horn Sheep, Black Bear, and Bald Eagle; and most importantly it offers an authentic wilderness experience.

However, despite its size, history, remoteness, and ominous-sounding nickname, the Salmon River is incredibly friendly and comfortable. It features warm summer days lasting until nearly 10 in the evening, cool nights perfect for sleeping under the stars, water perfect for swimming, natural hot springs to soak in, perhaps the best beach camping anywhere, world-class trout fishing, a ton of hiking, and whitewater that is exciting yet safe. People have said that it feels wild, untouched, and rugged but at the same time comfortable, forgiving, and almost luxurious – a journey that combines a perfect beach vacation with the solitude, beauty, vast wilderness, and excitement of a mountain whitewater river expedition.

Main Salmon River rafting is a trip everybody should experience!

This trip begins at the Stagecoach Inn in Salmon, Idaho. This night you will meet the rest of our My1FitLife Adventure group and your river guide.

The next morning we all  will be shuttled to Corn Creek where our river trip will begin. For the next 7 days and 6 nights you will enjoy the beautiful scenery, exciting rapids, and view a variety of wildlife.  The last day of your trip you will enjoy a few great rapids and then arrive at the take-out. From here you will be shuttled by bus back to Boise.

This is an oar run trip, not a motorized adventure like the Grand Canyon.

You can take anyone into the gym and motivate them to live fit for a day, but if you take them into nature, you can inspire them for life! That's the motto of Michelle Steinke-Baumgard and Keith Baumgard from My1FitLife. Six years ago, Michelle and Keith joined together and started what has become much more than just a fitness company; they have created a tribe, a community and a feeling that inspires you long after you leave their retreats. Michelle and Keith take fitness up a notch and remind you that living fit is not about making your body smaller, but instead, fitness is about making your life BIGGER!!! When you come for a retreat with My1FitLife you will accomplish big things; you will learn to be brave, to explore, to stretch your boundaries and to live your life to the fullest.

This was my first trip so I wanted it to be one of the smaller versions versus one of the big adventures. I knew Michelle and Keith just from zoom calls from doing a rise in 2023, and they are just as amazing in person Always willing to educate and inform listen: Which happens to be the same description we use for all the other wonderful ladies who is there even though I knew they had spent four hours together by the time I got there due to travel issues I felt comfortable immediately. As others have stated, the location was great, peaceful and serene (which it sounds like all trips are): But the whole team does such a nice job of mixing education/knowledge With allowing us to just share experiences with each other plus some free time. Definitely be doing another trip

It was fantastic from beginning to end. The setting was lovely and comfortable. I didn’t know anyone and everyone was super nice. Michelle and Keith gave us lots of tips on nutrition and exercise. The vegan chef was outstanding. I really enjoyed the yoga and TRE. The reset I needed.

Another wonderful immersion! I'm fortunate enough to have attended a few of these in various parts of the country and they do not disappoint. It's pure self-care which includes coaching, healthy eating options, good conversations, plus being able to experience new locations with friends who I may or may not have met yet. The tribe that has been created by Keith and Michelle has enhanced my life.

I had an amazing time meeting new people at this event. What a treat it was to have vegan meals prepared onsite for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The accommodations were perfect. I really enjoyed learning the entire time, whether it was listening to other ladies tell their stories or eating vegan or doing TRE or yoga. I will definitely do more events. Very well thought out and planned!!

Fantastic adventure. We saw and experienced so much. We challenged ourselves to walk on glaciers, climb up hills, taste 1000 year old glacial ice, drink from the well of the guide's family farm (water that his ancestors say was key to them living to be centenarians). The magic of Iceland came alive as our in country guides showed us all their special places, foods, traditions and history. There were so many stories. And we created stories of our own as a group and individually. Great group of people, great guides, and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend Michelle and Keith's trips. This one changed me!

The Utah immersion was a fantastic experience. I have traveled to and explored this area before on my own but the adventures planned with guides were truly places and moments I don’t think I could have ever had on a solo visit. On top of that, the rest, recuperation and relaxation pieces during this trip were the escape that I very much needed!
