Escape the snow this winter and experience one of our most popular destinations in California: Santa Barbara! This retreat-style trip combines the excitement of camping with the relaxation of being on the California coastline. Participants will enjoy staying in beautiful, fully equipped glamping-style cabins just minutes away from the beach. You'll enjoy group hikes, a day at the beach, an exploration of European-style villages, and of course plenty of campfire bonding time.
Trip Itinerary highlights include:
🥾 Iconic coastal hikes including the Gaviota Wind Caves Trail & Nojoqui Falls
🚲 Kick off the morning with biking or yoga (optional)
🦙 Spend some time with the llamas and goats at the on-property farm
🇩🇰 Stroll and experience Danish-culture in the city of Solvang
🦋 Visit the Goleta Monarch Butterfly Grove to spot the stunning butterflies
🌊 Spend the afternoon by the beach with khatiras & group reflections
This is a beginner level trip: the hikes planned are slightly challenging but can be done by those with limited hiking experience.
Important Information (please read before booking):
Accommodation for this trip include glamping style cabins with bunk-beds (1 cabin per 6 participants). There is one shared bathroom within each cabin.
If you will be flying in for this trip, we recommend flying into Santa Barbara Airport (SBA): arrival must be no later than 3 pm on Friday, January 16th departure is no earlier than 11 am on Monday, January 19th.
Ma'wa Collective is offering Transportation as an add-on with your booking. This would cover cost and coordination of all of the following:
Airport transfers from Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) to the cabins on Friday, January 16th. Transfers will be scheduled between 2pm - 4pm PST.
Transportation to all activities and destinations throughout the weekend
Airport transfer from the cabins to Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) on Monday, January 19th. Transfers will be scheduled between 10am - 12pm
Rental Car + Gas costs
If you are a local participant that will be driving themselves to the trip location, or prefer not to have Ma'wa Collective cover your transportation, your Trip Leader can assist with facilitating carpools between other participants in the group. This makes you responsible for managing the additional cost and coordination your transportation for the Trip.
Please note, if you elect not to include Transportation with your booking, we cannot guarantee that every Trip will have local participants that are able to volunteer their personal cars and offer a carpool. In some cases, a rental car may be the only option for carpooling. Some participants will need to volunteer as drivers for the rentals and the cost of the rental car is not covered by Ma’wa Collective. All participants are expected to split the cost of gas for the duration of the Trip, regardless of whether your carpool is a rental car or someone’s personal vehicle.
