Travel between San Cristobal and Santa Cruz went smoothly. As the water taxis needed to be used at both ends I feel it would have been more sensible to include this cost in the ferry ticktes. It was a bit frustrating to have to get tickets and submit more information following a Whatsapp message from Galapagos Ferries.

The ferry (just a speedboat in fact) is quite fast. Paired with very rough sea it made for a very tough trip. Be prepared (and take plenty of sea sickness pills and bags)

Booking was the best and easiest part of this experience! Everything else was a little disorganized to say the least. We got there very early to check in and had to wait. Once checked in, we received lanyards for our boat and waited in line to go through baggage check. Young men attempted to make lines at each dock for each boat, but they changed randomly without much notice other than other passengers saying they think the line was moving elsewhere. Once on the boat the seats were comfortable, the ride was smooth, but the heat was real! We sat in the back (were told that nearer the engine was the smoothest ride as I get seasick) and were in direct line of the sun. That was a mistake (although I did avoid sea sickness) as we needed to cover our whole bodies with towels to avoid a burn. We paid extra for a "superior" ferry, so I wonder what the difference was to the cheaper ride. Definitely not the horror story that I read about prior to coming to the Galapagos and certainly a bargain at the price to get in between islands.
