As you can see, one or two blocks away from office (CORNER OF 23rd/Thurman), there is plenty of free parking and you can walk over easily.

Where to Stay

NORTHWEST (NW):

Class will be held in the Slabtown/Nob Hill neighborhood of Northwest Portland‘s downtown area. There are many Airbnb’s and hotels in walking distance.

NORTHEAST (NE):

If you prefer to stay in the more funky and quaint areas of Alberta/Concordia/Mississippi/Williams/Irvington of the Northeast — you will have to allocate time for a long walk across bridges, rent a car, or take an Uber/Lyft/public transport or bike In.

You are responsible for your own lodging, transportation and meals for this course. There are many eateries and grocery stores in the area. No food is allowed inside classroom.

AIRPORT: PDX is close but not convenient for class. A great lace to rent car or rideshare to your lodging. Please note hotels by the airport are the farthest distance from class.

Getting There

Portland is a very accessible city with bus and rail options, bike and pedestrian friendly. Please see parking info in Location + Venue section above.

Before You Book: Course Requirements

Please review the course requirements & prerequisites below for all courses:

  • Must have at least 1 year of manual therapy experience.
  • Must meet your state/country's massage licensure requirements (if applicable).
  • Must have current liability/malpractice insurance in the state/country where you practice (no exceptions).
  • Sarga Bodywork does not have specific weight restrictions for students who attend in-person Sarga Bodywork courses. We recognize that a person’s weight is not necessarily indicative of fitness level, however we reserve the right to deny/refund applicants based upon our evaluation and will inquire further with applicants who are more than 175 pounds in weight and/or more than 6 feet in height. For more on practitioner weight and safety considerations, please review “Safety Considerations for Sarga Bodywork on Raised Massage Tables" under the “Equipment section” at www.sargabodywork.com/prepare
  • Fitness level is especially important for Sarga Bodywork practices on raised massage tables.

Here are 4 fitness measurements that can help to gauge your ability to learn and perform Sarga Bodywork with success:

1. The ability to balance on one foot for at least 1 minute without holding onto anything for support.

2. Excellent cardiovascular conditioning and the ability to perform cardiovascular exercise (jogging, swimming, etc.) for 10-15 minutes without stopping.

3. The ability to perform at least 3 sets of 20 squats.

4. The ability to isometrically hold a plank for at least 1 minute.

If you do not feel confident that you could meet these four requirements or if the location equipment and classroom cannot accommodate the height and weight parameters above, but you would still like to attend a Sarga Bodywork course, then our floor-based courses would be the best fit for you! Please contact sarga@sargabodywork.com directly for floor based course inquiries. While basic strength and conditioning is still important here, a floor-based practice provides practitioners a much wider and more stable working area, and fitness level is less of a consideration.

Reviews

Amy works hard to help workshop participants understand, feel, and learn Sarga Bodywork techniques. Amy provided a comfortable and “safe space” environment where she always took the time to work with each participant individually and to meet them at their own abilities/experience to better improve their learning. Couldn’t ask for more, thank you Amy!

Amy it was so fun watching you do your thing. You are a true coach / teacher, Thanks for the inspiration to keep using my feet 👣 it’s going to take a min to get it but with practice I’m sure I’ll be fine. Maybe I’ll see you in Hawaii at one of your retreats 😜
