About this trip

Initiation, deepening and training of Sattva Yoga in Brazil.

In this retreat we combine Sattva Yoga classes, a method created by Gustavo Ponce with the beauty of nature in the area of Costa Verde of Brazil. The place we have chosen is in the middle of a national park with many trails and waterfalls that allow you to enjoy nature. We have excellent food prepared with love that will really surprise you.

Accommodation

Pousada Dharma Shala is right in the center of Ecovilla Goura Vrindávana, which in turn is located within the paradisiacal Serra da Bocaina National Park, in the mountains of the Costa Verde, and the tourist and historical city of Paraty, in the south of the state of Rio. de Janeiro. In this context, Pousada Dharma Shala was born, to offer a unique stay, “in an ecological and spiritual sanctuary, in the heart of the Atlantic Forest”.


The term Dharma Shala is a traditional concept in India, which denotes accommodation aimed at people with a spirit of retreat, spiritual search, introspection and harmony with nature. The literal translation means "place of spirituality".

Sattva Yoga

Sattva Yoga is another method of Hatha Yoga, created by Gustavo Ponce, a creative teacher who gives his students the fruit of his experience and study. Its purpose is to awaken the vital energies of the body and mind, using techniques that purify. Hatha Yoga is a system that balances mental energy with body energy and when this happens we enter a state of Sattva.


Entering a sattvic state is the first step in entering the path of union. That the sage Patanjali defines in his yoga sutras as "the suspension of the fluctuations of the mind" and reaching the final goal of SAMADHI yoga.


It is a therapeutic method and contains the essence of the IYENGAR, ASHTANGA, VINYASA AND VINIYOGA methods. Alignment and flow. It has two versions, with a wall, the body is exercised with precision and fluidity, and without a wall, the same postures are done in the middle of the room and you can see how elegance and the correct use of energy are manifested with all their fascinating force, and beauty.

Location

Between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the Costa Verde is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in South America, without fear of saying so. The region is home to almost half of the Serra da Bocaina National Park, where the fauna and flora of the Atlantic Forest (Mata Atlantica) are preserved. It is not by chance that we have decided to hold this Retreat in Paraty, the colonial pearl of this paradisiacal coast. In addition, UNESCO classified the place as a World Heritage Site. Paraty or "Paradise", you are not sure of anything except one thing, a stay here and in its surroundings (80 islands, the splendid Ilha Grande among others) is always too short. A place far from the tumult of the city, where one travels by boat, on foot along the shores of the beaches or along paved alleys, witnesses of the glorious past of the gold and diamond mines of Minas Gerais.
