      Join us on a charming Southern escape where art, period architecture, trendy boutiques and ghost stories are all awaiting you to discover.  You will visit Charleston through house tours, Carriage tours through historic district, Harbor tour, Charleston Tea Plantation including tour of the fields and factory tour, culinary experiences and more.  Next you will experience the enchanting soul of Savannah visiting the Andrew Low House, Cathedral of St John the Baptist, trolley tour through Savannah’s historic district with Historical  reenactors to bring your tour to life,  a guided tour of local neighborhoods and Tybee Island including the Tybee Lighthouse, hop on and off trolley tours in Savannah Historic District and your choice of a Savannah Theater Show or Grave Encounters trolley Ghost Tour.   Your accommodations will include 2 overnights in NC (each way), Hyatt Place Historic Charleston and the The Kimpton Brice Hotel,  beautiful and poised on the outside, a bit sassy and rebellious on the inside. Centrally located in the historic district, just a cobblestone’s throw away from the famed River Street and walking distance to City Market.  Your southern culinary experience will include wine hours at the hotels, Cocktail, Beer or Wine tasting and local southern restaurants.  Your journey home will include a stop at the Middleton Place Historic Landmark of Gardens, House and beauty.  Your visit will include self guided walking tour, guided garden tour and Low Country Buffet lunch.

      Package includes motor coach transportation, overnight accommodations for 6 nights, 6 breakfasts, 3 lunches in local southern restaurants, 2 local restaurant dinners and 1 dinner on the way home, guided tours, admissions, wine/cocktail tastings, step on guide gratuity,  driver’s gratuity and trip leader.  Pretty INCLUSIVE TOUR

      A lot was packed into the weekend starting with a cruise. Saturday was exhilarating with a parade, the Nauticus museum, the International Festival and ending with the glorious VA Tattoo show. Stopping at the botanical gardens in Norfolk on our way home was the icing on this cake of this trip. Our hotel was oceanfront and the views and sound of the ocean were incredible. I’ll be looking forward to other trips with Garden State Getaways. I have to add that my daughter thought that my friend and I were going to come home with matching butterfly tattoos 😂 She was thrilled to learn what it was all about!

      Not sure if awesome adequately describes this trip. Perhaps AWESOME does a better job. Or maybe I just do not know the proper words to describe how much fun, how incredible or how special this trip was. From the moment we first got on the bus the fun started with Faith, soon accompanied by the maestro driver Eddie, having us laughing and enjoying ourselves. And things just got better from there. The cruise around the harbor, the parade of nations, the visit to the USS Wisconsin, the sensational seafood buffet dinner at the Captain Georges restaurant, followed by the inspiring, emotional, and truly incredible Virginia International Tattoo and ending at the botanical garden made this another of Faith's must-do-again tours. Once again we stayed at a great hotel with clean, comfortable rooms with the added pleasure this time of oceanfront views. The food again was delicious topped off by that incredible buffet. Faith did a great job, as she always does, of planning and organizing and we had the added plus of seeing John, her husband, and Allyson who were on the second bus. Thank you Faith. EVERY trip that we have ever taken with you has been wonderful and this one will be remembered for a long, long time as that Virginia International Tattoo was an unbelievable experience. Faith, you are THE BEST.

      We have been on numerous trips with Faith and they are always adventurous and well planned. This year started with the Kentucky Derby, Land and Cruise thru Alaska and the Mircle of Christmas in Lancaster Pa was a great way to wrap of the year. Can't wait for new adventures.
