About your trip

Join us on a 10 day adventure to Cambodia.

Cambodia is an adventure as much as a holiday, and despite its headline attractions like Angkor Wat, its greatest treasure is its people. Come join us exploring this beautiful spiritual country, while also spending some of your holiday volunteering with Cambodia Rice Run on our projects.

Start in Siem Reap for 7 nights staying in the luxury of Navutu Dreams Resort and Wellness Retreat, a short tuk tuk ride from the centre of Siem Reap.  Siem Reap is a regional hotspot for dining, bars and all things spiritual. Siem Reap is a place to be savoured, not rushed, and Siem Reap will win your heart.

The last three nights of our time in Cambodia is spent in its capital city, Phnom Penh. The name can't help but conjure up an image of the exotic. Despite its recent genocidal history tarnishing the jewel in the crown, the city has risen from its ashes and is now a hip vibey place to hang out and study its sad history.

Please note that there will be 4 days of volunteering throughout the tour. We encourage all participants to fundraise a minimum of $500 to put towards Cambodian Rice Run projects on top of your tour price.

$1USD = approximately 4000 Riel

City Tour of Phnom Penh

Today we will tour the city of Phnom Penh, visiting two of the most important sites in Cambodia - The Killing Fields and S21 Tuol Sleng.

Tuol Sleng was a high school prior to 1975, an interrogation prison known as S-21 during the Khmer Rouge era and today it is a genocide museum. It tells the sad story of the thousands of innocent Cambodian people who were tortured on its

grounds. Walking through the narrow corridors and former classrooms of the buildings will give you an eerie feeling of being part of Cambodia's turbulent past.

While this experience may be sad, it is recommended to visit in order to truly understand the country of Cambodia and the beautiful people you have met along the way.

We will then visit Cheung Ek Killing Field, the peaceful stretch of green fields, just outside of Phnom Penh. A large memorial has been built to commemorate the victims who died here under the reign of Khmer Rouge leader, Pol Pot.

The remnants inside the memorial and the mass graves that dot the area remind you of the suffering of the victims. This journey into Cambodia's past will provide you with a background on the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge regime. It will also give you an appreciation of the struggle that Cambodian people have faced and their tremendous courage to move on and rebuild their nation.

After lunch, we will look to take a walk through the Russian Markets for some last minute shopping, and check out Wat Phnom.

Tonight we finish our tour with a Rooftop Sunset Cocktail Party in Phnom Penh to say goodbye.

Included Activities - Tour of Phnom Penh with admission fees and English Speaking Guide, Sunset Cocktail Party
