We will be traveling over to the 7th oldest club in Scotland, Crail Golf Club
For centuries golf has been played over these beautiful old links, long before the days of formal rules, gas mowers and metal clubs. Much of the course is the same as it was laid out in 1895 by the expert himself, Old Tom Morris. Crail’s Balcomie Links is one of Scotland’s golfing gems.
Crail is steeped in history, the King’s Cave located on hole 3 is where King Constantine 2, King of Alba in 900 AD was killed close to the site by the Danes. Artifacts found on the site are varied from the Romans, Picts, Norseman. Dane’s Dike also runs through the golf courses which is a 1200-year-old defensive line built by the Vikings to keep out the local Pictish Tribes.
Your names will be in the Old Course Ballot again today.
