Qualifying course for the British Open, Boy’s and Girl’s British Amateur, the course plays along the ocean and is a true links course.

Depending on our tee times, we will visit Tantallon Castle a Douglas Family stronghold on an amazing outcrop in the Firth of Forth!

Golf at North Berwick

Sunday, May 26, 2025

After Breakfast, we will travel to North Berwick Golf Club. Golf has been played over the historic West Links since the 17th century, from about every tee you have breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth (Firth is the Scottish name for Bay) and the islands of Bass Rock, Craigleith, Lamb and Fidra. The first tee is a short walk from the bustling town of North Berwick. It is fun to hit over stone walls that wind through the course. It is a championship course hosting final qualifying for the British Open and has hosted the Scottish Open. It is a perfect example of a links course – quirky, along the water, rolling hills, crazy bounces, and a bunch of fun!

Golf at Royal Musselburgh

After Breakfast, we will travel to Royal Musselburgh Golf Club. We will be playing the 6th oldest club in Scotland, Royal Musselburgh designed by James Braid a fierce competitor with Old Tom Morris. This course is a parkland course however it is close to the Firth of Forth. Many competitions were played on the course and the club house has a long history.

St. Andrews Scotland

Monday, May 27, 2025

Leave The Leddie Hotel after Breakfast and travel to St. Andrews. We will visit St. Andrews Castle and Cathedral and have an opportunity to play optional golf in St. Andrews. Each day, our names will be added to the ballot for the Old Course in St. Andrews. Green fees for St. Andrews Old Course are an extra fee to be paid at the starter house adjacent to the first tee.

A visit to the Dunvegan Pub is a must and there are many other fun pubs!

In addition to being included in the ballot for the old course every day, we can also enter the daily walk on program at the club house. It is a new program where you sign up the night before at the clubhouse with an app. It beats sleeping outside or showing up at 4 am to get in line. They give you an idea when and if you might have to be at the club house to fit in with a group of less than 4 players.

When you enter the early ballot, if selected we will know your tee time 48 hours in advance. You can decide to play, or you can cancel the tee time. Unfortunately, St. Andrews Trust does not allow your tee time to be transferred to someone else.

Overnight at 5-star Fairmont St. Andrews Hotel just 10 minute for town. There is a complimentary shuttle to and back from town.

Crail Golf Club

Thursday, May 30, 2025

We will be traveling over to the 7th oldest club in Scotland, Crail Golf Club

For centuries golf has been played over these beautiful old links, long before the days of formal rules, gas mowers and metal clubs. Much of the course is the same as it was laid out in 1895 by the expert himself, Old Tom Morris. Crail’s Balcomie Links is one of Scotland’s golfing gems.

Crail is steeped in history, the King’s Cave located on hole 3 is where King Constantine 2, King of Alba in 900 AD was killed close to the site by the Danes. Artifacts found on the site are varied from the Romans, Picts, Norseman. Dane’s Dike also runs through the golf courses which is a 1200-year-old defensive line built by the Vikings to keep out the local Pictish Tribes.

Your names will be in the Old Course Ballot again today.
