6 nights + 15 dives + snorkel with whale sharks!
Play with sea lions, snorkel with whale sharks, dive at night with schooling mobula rays and more! Join us for this unique trip to the Sea of Cortez, one of the most biologically diverse marine systems in the world. We'll explore some of the best diving in the region including Cabo Pulmo Marine Park, one of Mission Blue’s Hope Spots.
Get up close to some of the ocean’s coolest creatures including a life-changing frolic with a colony of 400 wild sea lions. What sets Baja diving apart is the big stuff: giant mantas, sea lions, and impressive numbers of sharks, including whale sharks and hammerheads. There are also over 900 species of fish to see as well as marine mammals and diving birds. In November, the waters are still warm with a great chance of seeing juvenile whale Sharks.
Along our "Discover Baja" route we will:
- visit the friendly sea lions at Los Islotes
- look for hammerheads at El Bajo
- do a night dive with mobula rays
- snorkel with juvenile whale sharks in La Paz Bay
- and be amazed by the Jacknado and maybe bull sharks(!) in Cabo Pulmo.
The 125 ft long M/V Valentina will be our home base for this incredible trip. It has 10 air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom. The dining room offers excellent cuisine with a variety of Mexican, European and Asian dishes, and also an open bar with a choice of various soft drinks, tea, coffee and draft beer. Relax between dives on the large, partially covered sun deck, or enjoy the stars at night while floating in the middle of the ocean.
FYI they have reduced the number of people allowed on the boat from 20 divers to 13 divers total. They do not require COVID-19 PCR testing or free COVID certification, but you will be asked to fill in the COVID-19 self-Assessment Declaration form before boarding. They have also been monitoring the crew’s health condition every day and will do the same for guests. You can read more about their COVID-19 procedures here.
You should fly in to San Jose del Cabo (SJD) on November 7 and arrive no later than 4 PM. (Complimentary shuttles are scheduled for 12 PM, 2 PM and 5:30 PM.) You must be on board the boat by 9 PM so we can head out to our first night's anchorage. From there we will head up the coast to dive in Cabo Pulmo and all around our favorite sites in the Sea of Cortez. We will disembark on November 13 in La Paz so you can fly home from there or take a 3 hour shuttle back to Cabo. Please email or call the shop with any questions before booking your flight!
