This morning we will explore Milan with our local guide, visiting the Milan Cathedral and surrounding area, before we make our way to our beautiful lakeside hotel at Lake Maggiore.
Board a private boat with a local guide for a short cruise around the Borromean Islands in Lake Maggiore. Enjoy a guided tour of Isola Bella, including the Palace and gardens (weather permitting). Relax over lunch in a traditional restaurant before returning to Stresa for a free evening - perhaps shopping, strolling, laying by the pool, or enjoying the hotel spa?
Head into the hills of Piedmont, where we will meet two young, passionate cheese refiners, local artisans in whose cellar quietly ages cheese from the surrounding area. We will taste multiple types of cheese, as well as enjoy additional light lunch fare paired with wine for a memorable cheese experience! This afternoon, we head into the wine region of Piedmont, where we will will explore our hilltop home village for the next 4 nights, followed by a traditional dinner this evening!
Visit 2 women owned wineries today as we explore some of the most charming small towns of the Barolo wine region! This evening, roll your sleeves up for a cooking class where we will create our 4 course dinner together with our chef, enjoying perfectly paired wine along the way!
On a private guided walking tour of Turin today, discover the secrets of the women of the Savoy family who helped unify Italy in 1861, peek into the royal church of St Lawrence, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture, and savor local tasty specialties like the "bicerin"- a glass with hot chocolate, coffee and cream! Lunch will be on your own in Turin, and dinner will be on your own back in our home town this evening.
Enjoy a late morning and relax by the pool or explore the countryside with a hike in the vineyards. Today we visit a hazelnut farm and meet a local woman who turned the old family farmhouse into a pastry lab, and won important awards for her "baci di dama"- local hazelnut cookies! Our light lunch will be at a nearby winery, followed by time to explore Alba, the historic hometown of the hazelnut spread- Nutella!
Say goodbye to the Barolo wine region today, and hello to the province of Asti! Visit an underground cellar where sparkling wine is made, and toast with three difference kinds of bubbles! We raise our glasses this afternoon to new friends and our wonderful adventure during our farewell lunch. This evening, we say goodbye at the Milan airport, where you have one last sleep in Italy before your departure tomorrow. For your ease of travel, we stay in a hotel that is a short walk to the terminal of Milan Malpensa airport.
