Village hiking and coffee expereince tour video
Your private guide will welcome you to Pokhara. After meeting at Lakeside, we will start the hike following the shore of Phewa Lake. Fisherman at beautiful Phewa Lake, Rice terraces, Paragliders above the blue sky, and an uphill hike up to the Pandeli Village through the community forest for another 2 hrs is a very active and refreshing journey.
The community of coffee farmers will warmly welcome you and you start discovering the local village and surrounding coffee farms on foot. A local NPO, Sharing Seeds, initiated several community-based projects like Arabica coffee farming and involving local women in community based tourism.
Depending on the season, you will see Arabica coffee flowers blooming, local female coffee farmers during the coffee seedling distribution, or even coffee farmers harvesting the ripe coffee cherries. Visit the local coffee processing center at Khadkathar village of Sarangkot and watch a demonstration of them pulping fresh red coffee cherries or the hand sorting process after the hulling process of coffee parchment. Your guide will give you access to the drying center and explain the coffee grading process. This fascinating day will end with a delicious local organic lunch served on the coffee farm before your guide takes you back to Pokhara by a scenic drive of 30min- with a bit of luck, the view will include not only Pokhara lake and colorful mustard fields, but also the breath-taking Annapurna Mountain range. And last but not least you will of course have a chance to appreciate and enjoy a cup of delicious freshly brewed local coffee.
