About this trip

Are you ready to have a breakthrough with your voice and music?

How often do your insecurities, fears, judgements and doubts about your voice and playing music hold you back from expressing yourself?

Bhakti Yoga Practice

I will be leading integrative devotional yoga practices from the Sattva yoga tradition as taught by Anand Mehrotra. It will be open to all levels. It will include kriyas (elevating movements), asanas (postures), pranayama (breath/energy practices), and dhyana (meditation).  This holistic style of yoga is designed to affect all levels of being which in turn uplifts, heal and awakens the practitioner to elevated states of consciousness.  It is similar to Kundalini Yoga as taught by KRI. I love to add the focus of deities to enhance the embodiment of the bhakti practice.  This will include mantras, kriyas and meditations specifically for each deity.

“I met Ananda Das a few years back after following his music on Spotify and I thought - wow, this guy can really deliver songs with equal parts authenticity, power and love. Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of mentoring under him and it has helped me open to my authentic voice and craft. As a kirtan musician and singer myself, it has been so important for me to get great teachers on this path and I consider Ananda Das one of those.

The depth, humor, efficiency and overall joy that he brings is outstanding and I would recommend him to anyone seeking to open their voice, to FIND their voice, to USE their voice, and to experience deeper levels of love for singing and playing devotional songs. “ Grant Ifflander (Yoga Teacher and Kirtan Singer)

This was a wonderful retreat! The accomodations were peaceful and comfortable, with food made by an excellent chef! Ananda was a wonderful guide through morning yoga, noontime fun on excursions, afternoon singing and evening kirtan! My heart is full after visiting this beautiful island and spending time at this retreat. I already miss the ocean view and company of new friends.

Great trip but weTravel could have been more organized. Please send out a welcome message right away after someone registers for the retreat. The email containing the agreements to cover you should have listed the retreat in the title so that it didn’t look like spam. The airport closest to the retreat should have been included in the welcome message. The road leading into the retreat should have been labeled better. I hope that this review has been helpful!

This trip included so many wonderful surprises, not the least of which was swimming with a sea turtle in its natural habitat for quite some time. It was one of our ocean adventures, others of which were also graced with whales and dolphins. The Bhakti chanting was both deep and sweet. The yoga was unique compared to the multitude of other types of yoga that I've tried since I was a young teen (I'm now in my 60s!).

Mahalo Darlene! It was such a pleasure to have you on this retreat. Hope to spend time with you again soon.
