We’ll begin in Senegal, where this Getaway is all about culture, history and adventure! We’ll visit the iconic African Renaissance Monument, experience an unforgettable lion walk, and journey to Gorée Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site off the coast of Dakar that has become one of the world’s most powerful places of remembrance. West Africa is MOST connected to the transatlantic slave trade and this island and its "House of Slaves" has preserved a painful chapter of African history and holds particular significance for members of the African diaspora. This portion of our journey is meant to be exciting, but also meaningful, a chance to experience Senegal beyond the surface and connect with its history, culture and people.

And somewhere between Senegal and The Gambia, we’ll settle another very important West African debate: THE BATTLE OF THE JOLLOF! 😂🇸🇳⚔️🇬🇲 Both countries have their own take on this beloved West African dish, so naturally, we’ll have to taste for ourselves and decide who really does it best. Come prepared to pick a side, because people take their jollof seriously around these parts!

We then switch gears completely in The Gambia. 🇬🇲 This is where we slow alllll the way down. We’ll settle into resort life, spend time with the monkeys, enjoy a spa day at Mirrored Spa .. the BEST spa in The Gambia and actually leave room to relax. No running from activity to activity.
