After breakfast at the hotel, we depart via local bus to Bel Ombre from where we start our first exploration by foot of the main island. Our walk takes us along the most beautiful coastline with views of the azure blue waters as far as the eye can see. 

We arrive at Anse Major and the small beach fringed with green vegetation and mountains. We enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. Take a well-deserved swim and relax on the beach before starting the hike back. Alternatively, take the water taxi back to Beau Vallon (R200 pp).

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart in a private minibus taxi to a drop-off point from where we will start our hike across the island. We follow a route that was used by the Roman Catholics during the Second World War through the Morne Seychelles National Park. Our local guide has vast knowledge of the local fauna and flora that we encounter along the way.

We hike through a lost world of mountains, forests and glimpses of the Indian Ocean far below before we reach Port Launay Marine Park in time for lunch. After lunch underneath the trees it is time for a swim. We spend the biggest part of the afternoon here relaxing and enjoying the sun, sea and sand.

At 17:00 we depart with a local bus for the drive back across the middle of the island to Beau Vallon. The road we take is a beautiful one and a great way to see the island from a local’s perspective.

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart in a private minibus taxi to the world’s smallest capital city, Victoria. Here we visit the Victoria Clocktower, the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke market, the Hindu Temple – Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar, a cathedral, the Seychelles National Botanical Gardens and enjoy a typical Creole lunch.

After lunch enjoy some free time to explore the island on your own or partake in any of the optional activities on offer:

• Horse riding along the stunning beach;
• Deep sea fishing;
• Diving;
• Visit some of the other beaches on Mahé including Fairyland, Anse Soleil or Anse Takamaka. 

In the afternoon we take the ferry to the second biggest island, Praslin.

After breakfast we depart for the Vallée de Mai World Heritage Site. This is only one of two places in the world where one can see the rare coco-de-mer palms (“coco fesses” or coconut buttocks) in their natural habitat – This is the world’s heaviest seed, weighing anywhere between 15 and 30 kg. We undertake a three hour walk through the park where we view the unique coco de mer as well as five other endemic palms. If we are lucky enough, we might also see the black parrot.

Lunch is a served at a local restaurant. The afternoon is free to explore Praslin, go swimming or enjoy some more fresh food at one of the restaurants along the beautiful beach front.

Dinner is served at our accommodation.

After another wonderful breakfast, we depart at 09:00 with private taxi to a drop-off point where we start our two-and-a-half hour hike across Praslin along a deserted path. We pass the Plaine de Hollandaise cemetery close to the top of the hike before heading down into one of the most beautiful beaches in the world – Anse Lazio. It is even more beautiful after a walk. Take a refreshing swim in the ocean and feel like a real explorer. This is also one of the few beaches that we visit with waves where you can practice your body-surfing.

Lunch is a typical Creole take-away served on the beach. We spend most of the day at Anse Lazio before taking the public bus back to our accommodation.

After breakfast we walk the short distance to catch the boat that will take us to Curieuse Island. Curieuse is a granite island that was a leper colony between 1833 and 1965. It is now used as a breeding centre for giant Aldabra tortoises. We take a short tour around the tortoise pens after which we explore the rest of the island, passing mangroves and structures that was in use during the leper colony time. Lunch is a traditional barbeque on the beach.

Enjoy some relaxing time – remember to bring your snorkelling equipment along!  The house of Dr McGregor has also been restored and is now a museum that reflects live on the island. We also visit the St Pierre Islet on the way back for one of those otherworldly Seychelles underwater experiences.

Dinner is at a local restaurant.

Today we depart Praslin and head to the third biggest island of the Seychelles – La Digue. The ferry trip takes about fifteen minutes.  After a brief rest at our accommodation, the beautiful Paradise Fly Catcher Lodge, we depart on a walking exploration of the island.

We take a hike up the steep road that leads to Bellevue and Nid D’Aigle (Eagle’s Nest) from where we enjoy the most beautiful views of La Digue and the islands beyond.  

We will have a picnic lunch after descending from the top of the island. From here, we hike to the incredibly beautiful Anse Source D’Argent beach. To get there, we first walk through a Coconut Oil Production area and a vanilla plantation at L’Union Estate. Here we also have the opportunity to see the original plantation house, giving us a real glimpse into the old world. Spend the rest of the afternoon lost on the stunning beach – wander around the granite rocks and up the hidden paths to find the hidden treasure – solitude in one of the most beautiful spots on earth.

A dinner of fresh seafood is served at the accommodation.

Breakfast is enjoyed in the lovely garden at the accommodation. Today we explore the area beyond Anse Source D’Argent on kayaks. The kayaking is easy along the “lagoon” and we reach a deserted beach at Bonnet Carré where we relax and do some more exploring on foot.

Return for lunch and a free afternoon. Use this time to rent a bicycle (own expense) and explore the rest of the island. Cycling is easy and it is worthwhile to ride to Grand Anse.
