Shari DeBenedetti: Paranormal Investigator, Researcher.

Shari became interested in the paranormal at a young age after experiencing many strange and unexplained events throughout her life.

However, it wasn't until the mid-1990s that she began actively researching and investigating the paranormal. At that time the house she was living in was believed to be haunted. One particularly terrifying encounter became the turning point that drove her to seriously research and investigate the paranormal in order to understand what was truly happening.

Shari later formed her own investigative team and has spent decades helping individuals and families who are experiencing activity in their homes. Later, Shari met Jason Hawes, founder of The Atlantic Paranormal Society, and she joined the team in 2014.

She was a full-time cast member as a paranormal investigator on Ghost Hunters (seasons 10 and 11) on SyFy and later returned for seasons 14-16 on the Travel Channel and Discovery+. She also appeared in Season 2 of Ghost Nation.

Today Shari continues to conduct private investigations with local teams while also participating in larger private and public investigations, paranormal events, and conventions across the country.

Michelle Reuss, Paranormal investigator, Physical Medium, and Psychometry expert:

Michelle is very experienced in the paranormal field, founder of The Riverside Iowa Paranormal and shares her passion for uncovering the mysteries of the supernatural. As a Demonologist, Physical Medium, and Paranormal Investigator, she dedicated her life to understanding and confronting paranormal phenomena, bringing her extensive knowledge and unique abilities to each case they take on.

Michelle, a Physical Medium, Psychometry expert, and Ordained Minister, has spent many years studying the paranormal, earning certifications in Metaphysics, Divinity, and Spiritual Warfare. She’s also studied various spiritual and religious practices, including counseling and para-counseling, and the effects of satanic abuse from cult activity. As the founder of Riverside Iowa Paranormal, Michelle uses her abilities to assist with investigations both locally and worldwide, often tackling some of the most challenging and dark cases.

Her expertise in spiritual warfare and exorcism has earned her recognition for helping those affected by the most malevolent forces. Together, Michelle and Shari bring a deep sense of responsibility and respect for the paranormal field. They are dedicated to practicing safe paranormal techniques and sharing their knowledge with others. Michelle also mentors fellow researchers and mediums, emphasizing the importance of protection from psychic attacks and grounding.

Michelle further helps those with psychic abilities, offering counseling and teaching children how to manage their gifts safely. In addition to her investigative work, she also provides a unique service by offering the removal and secure storage of haunted items in blessed locations, ensuring the safety of their clients and the items they encounter. 1  The company requires non-refundable deposits to be paid as per tour in a timely manner. By paying a deposit you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Company.

2  Our tours are all based on double occupancy. There will be an additional supplement for single travelers which will depend on tour taken.

6  Due to limited capacity on coaches, there may be a limit of one suitcase per passenger. 

7  Participants are responsible for all their property, luggage, backpacks, phone's, laptops etc. 

8  The company tour guide will give all participants phone no's of tour guides and driver at the start of the trip or in an email before the start of the trip, it is vital that you keep these in a safe place.

9  At the start of each day your tour guide will tell you what time you should be ready, or to be on the bus for the next day's journey, it is up to you to contact your guide if you missed announcements on times. 

10 We strongly suggest you to purchase travel insurance to cover your travel investment in the event that you have to cancel your trip closer to the travel date.

11  Some of our trips require walking over stony roads and pathways, it is advised to always bring strong waterproof walking shoes, and waterproof/windproof outer coats/jackets also.

12 We also advise all participants to let us know of food allergies they have. We also state that if there are walks on rough surfaces or up hills, if you don't think you can take part please let us know and you can stay on the bus with the driver.

13 Each participant is responsible for their baggage being brought from the Coach to their accommodation except in the case where the company have booked porterage. The group will be advised where porterage will take place.

14 Conditions, availability, or contractual obligations may warrant for dates, venues, lodging, talent/celebrity headliners/hosts/guests. Ambassadors, tour guides or transportation modes to be changed or cancelled. It is our intent and obligation, within the best of our ability, to substitute and /or accommodate equal or enhanced alternatives. We will not refund any deposits or payments towards the tour due to these conditions.

15 There is a certain fitness level required for this tour, if you feel that you cannot walk up hill or long walks, we will ask you to stay on the bus. 

16 Secret Ireland Tours operates on an 8 to 9 hour day policy. When we depart early, usually around 9 AM, we generally return to our accommodations between 6 PM and 7 PM. If we have evening excursions, we leave later in the day to comply with legal driving time regulations for our driver.

17 We do not hire additional drivers to extend the length of our tours. While some people may prefer tours lasting 10 to 12 hours, the majority do not.

Ardgillan Castle:

Initially, the site was heavily wooded, the name Ardgillan being derived from the Irish “Ard Choill” meaning High Wood. It was cleared out by service soldiers and itinerant workers in return for one penny a day, sleeping accommodation, and one meal.

The house consists of two storeys over a basement which extends out under the lawns on the southern side of the building. When occupied, the ground and first floors were the living accommodations while the west and east wings were servants’ quarters and estate offices. The basement is comprised of the service floor, the kitchen, and stores. The Castle has now been restored and the ground floor rooms and kitchens are open to visitors for guided tours.

Malahide Castle:

King Henry II gifted Richard Talbot the lands and harbor of Malahide for his services to the crown in 1185. From that point on, the Talbot family became intertwined with Malahide’s history and development.

A magnificent fortress with a long and dramatic history, and a few resident ghosts, Malahide also has gardens that you can roam through, It has a walled garden and a Butterfly house but its ghosts are active here all the time:

Reports of spooky sightings go back as long as the castle’s 800-year history; hardly surprising when you consider the tales of battles, bloodshed, and broken hearts surrounding this medieval building.

Some of these ghosts are connected to real historical figures that lived here while others are of more mysterious origin. One of the most famous ghostly residents is court jester Puck. Unlucky in love, Puck continues to nurse a broken heart in the turret where he used to live. You may also have heard of the lady in white; a female apparition who wanders the rooms and corridors of the castle.

Powerscourt House and Gardens:

Glendalough Monastic Site: Glendalough has been a place of pilgrimage since the 6th century when St. Kevin lived there as a hermit and ascetic, attracting followers and establishing a monastery there.  Little is known for certain about Kevin, since the many stories we have were first written centuries after his passing. These stories and myths continue to fascinate and offer inspiration today.St. Laurence O’Toole was abbot in the Glendalough monastery and initiated reform before being appointed Archbishop of Dublin in 1162. It is believed that he remained a monk at heart and returned to Glendalough on retreat frequently.

Charleville Castle /Kinnitty Castle

Charleville Castle:

Located in County Offaly, in the Midlands of Ireland, and bordering the town of Tullamore near the Shannon River, Charleville Castle is situated in Ireland's most ancient primordial oak woods, once the haunting grounds of Ireland's druids.

Charleville Castle grew from paper doodles in early 1798 to grandiose plans by the end of that very eventful year in Ireland. It was built by Charles William Bury, Earl of Charleville, and was designed by Francis Johnston, one of the leading architects of the day.

Charleville Castle is said to be the finest example of gothic-revival architecture in the country. This is a veritable Gothic castle of grand proportions. It owes its "Tin Soldier Fortress" look to the celebration of victory over the third French revolutionary expedition to Ireland - the first decisive victory by Britain over the revolutionary republican movement, which was sweeping across the monarchies and their colonies at that time. 

It took fourteen years to complete this gothic dream, a monument not only to a now-forgotten power but also to the people who made it possible, the Irish craftsmen and impoverished people.

Kinnitty Castle

Kinnitty Castle, nestled at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains in County Offaly, is a stunning 13th-century Gothic-style fortress steeped in history and legend. Once home to druids and monks, the site carries centuries of mystery within its walls. Today, the beautifully restored castle welcomes guests with its grand halls, period-style rooms, and warm Irish hospitality. But it’s not just luxury that draws visitors—Kinnitty is also famed for its resident spirits. Guests and staff alike have reported encounters with the “Phantom Monk of Kinnitty,” shadowy figures roaming the corridors, and unexplained whispers in the night. Combining elegance with an air of the supernatural, Kinnitty Castle offers both a fairytale stay and a brush with Ireland’s haunted past.

King John's Castle:

King John's Castle also known as Limerick Castle is a 13th-century castle located on King's Island in Limerick, Ireland, next to the River Shannon. Although the site dates back to 922 when the Vikings lived on the Island, the castle itself was built on the orders of King John of England in 1200. One of the best preserved Norman castles in Europe, the walls, towers, and fortifications remain today.

Aillwee Caves:

Expert guides will accompany and inform you during your leisurely tour. The tour consists of a 45-minute stroll through the beautiful caverns – over bridged chasms, under weird formations and alongside the thunderous waterfall which sometimes gently sprays the unsuspecting visitor! Marvel at the frozen waterfall and learn about the now extinct brown bears’ bones (ursos arctos).

The guides will bring you back to the overground world where you can browse and shop in a distinctly different gift shop which is housed in the award-winning complex that guards the entrance to the Burren underground.

Cork Explore

We arrive in Cork City and take some time to explore, shop and eat a meal before going to our next adventure.

Cork Jail Investigation

Centuries of history and horror have left their mark on the prison, which is now a tourist destination. In the 1980s, members of Ireland’s navy who were stationed on the island reported seeing dark figures standing over their bunks. During a recent investigation, the inn’s manager told the “Destination Fear” crew that he feels a lot of tension in cells where a violent prison riot took place in 1985.Armed with knives, inmates were able to overpower the guards and take control of the island. Several of the buildings were burned.

Visitors to the island have reported hearing phantom gunshots, believed to be left behind from a British occupation.I Other tourists have seen a soldier dressed in an old fashioned uniform sitting in front of a fireplace. In 2018, a visitor on a Halloween ghost tour snapped a photo with the apparition of a man standing in one of the long corridors.

On April 11th 1912, 123 passengers came to the busy harbour town of Queenstown (now known as Cobh), to board the Titanic bound for New York.
Four days later, they would find themselves fighting for their lives in one of the world's most tragic maritime disasters.

Charles Fort;

Rock of Cashel:

We leave the Castle Hotel at 8 am to bring you to the airport. American Customs operates out of Dublin airport, so it is advised to be there at least 3 hours before your flight, so you have time to go through Irish security and American customs.

We do 1 run to the airport, so if you book your flights before 12 noon, you will have to make your own way to the airport.
