About this trip

There lives within all of us a longing for nature. We often find that adventures across the vast and physical realms of the great outdoors leads us to the sacred and instinctual nature of our soul. We invite you to step beyond the boundaries of your yoga mat and into a outdoor adventure experience spanning the radiant Blue Ridge Mountain cliffs, valleys, ancient caverns, and waterfalls. Take the time to soak in the fall colors this year with your friends on this mountain yoga & hiking adventure.

This retreat will provide an opportunity for you to deepen your practice on a physical and spiritual level. Join Ally, Amanda & Friends to celebrate the end of summer and welcome fall with a weekend getaway that will leave you feeling physically rejuvenated, mentally awake, and ready for the coming change of seasons. The transition between summer and fall is the perfect time to change your pace and refresh your inner resources.

Your Hosts

Ally Hughes, 200 E-RYT/500 RYT, is an Ashtanga and Vinyasa teacher based out of Annapolis, MD. Her yoga journey began in Hawaii in 2005 where she studied Mysore Ashtanga , under Norman Allen. In 2009 she began the study of vinyasa Yoga, receiving an addional 200-hr training in vinyasa flow. She has taught over 5,000 hours of classes and workshops, in Ashtanga, power vinyasa, rocket ashtanga, and yoga for addiction recovery.

Her teaching style beautifully blends the hard and soft aspects of power yoga. Her classes are accessible to all level practitioners, while challenging one to dive deeper finding strength, courage and the ability to have fun.  She believes through opening the body we cultivate space of inner peace, and develop tools which we can carry into our everyday life. Ally cannot express in words the gratitude and love for her teachers, mentors, and those who support her on this journey. Their guidance, understanding, and friendship helped her move from darkness into light and find the courage to overcome adversities.   She feels deeply honored and privileged  to share this practice, and what was so freely given to her, with her students!

Practice with Ally privately, at one of the local Annapolis studios or on retreat and you will find, one breath at a time, a long lasting inner strength and peace.

Amanda Marie has a wide range of teaching experience. She has taught Rocket yoga, a power physical yoga practice which incorporates the Primary and Intermediate series, along with key postures from the 3rd and 4th series of the Ashtanga yoga practice. After back surgery, having to change her practice completely, Amanda began to teach a more accessible form of yoga, ranging from Chair Yoga for disability, alignment based yoga for beginning students, and meditation classes for stress awareness and relief.

In 2016 Amanda developed a yoga wellness group at her agency, recruiting over 200 employees, providing them tools for stress and wellness. Her classes involved chair yoga, beginner and intermediate alignment based yoga, and included some private sessions with interested students. As her studies expanded, she began to work with private clients outside of her agency, incorporating her practice with Physical Therapy techniques while working with the clients' therapists.

Amanda also works with athletes to improve flexibility and mobility, aiding to increased performance in their respective activities.

Amanda's passion is in addictions recovery, domestic violence, mental health, and women's empowerment. In 2018 she will be sharing and serving this community through retreats, workshops, and community classes in areas all over the work. To follow her journey, subscribe on her email list, check out her workshops and retreats, or just shoot her a message. She is always excited to connect with her community in any way she can.
