Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 4:00 a.m. (exact time based on location), followed by a private transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station. For an optimized experience, we highly recommend spending the night prior in Ollantaytambo. This strategic choice reduces travel time by approximately 1.5 hours from Cusco and allows for a more relaxed start. The journey from Cusco to Ollantaytambo takes approximately 90 minutes. From there, you will board an early train and travel alongside the Urubamba River, arriving at Km 104 (Chachabamba), the gateway to the Short Inca Trail, set within the lush cloud forest. Upon arrival, you will proceed directly to the control point—please ensure you carry your original passport for entry.

From here, you will embark on a remarkable 7-hour trek along the original Inca Trail. The first segment consists of a steady ascent of approximately four hours, leading to Wiñay Wayna—one of the most impressive and well-preserved archaeological sites along the route.
