About this trip

The inaugural Sickman's Mill Tour of Ireland kicks off in April 2022!

Join us on this 9 day Irish adventure of all of our favorite spots to visit in Ireland.

Kicking off in Dublin, we quickly shoot west to Galway City, the 2020 European Capital of Culture, for two nights of discovery, pub-hopping and music. Just outside the city lies the mountainous

Consider this pre-season training ahead of a summer of tubin', drinkin' and music (without the tubing)..

Itinerary

Kicking off in Dublin, we quickly shoot west to Galway City, the 2020 European Capital of Culture, for two nights of discovery, pub-hopping and music. Just outside the city lies the mountainous and heritage-rich region of Connemara, one of the few places in Ireland where the traditional Irish language is still spoken.

Our post-Galway detox leads us to two nights on the smallest of the three Aran Islands. Allow this magically charming haven to wrap it's arms around you while you exhale all the mainland worries away. Inhale a few lung-full's of crispy west-of-Ireland air before plunging into the wild atlantic ocean. Just as your hangover is shocked out of your system, you'll notice another pint waiting for you at the bar...

Hopping off the the island and back onto the mainland, we cruise under the Cliffs of Moher to soak up a dramatic sampler of the awesome coastline where we will call home for the following few days. World class surfing and golfing are easy options from here, if your feeling up for it.

A quick Google search of the Dingle Peninsula will give you a glimpse of why this next location is so magical. Experiencing it in person, and getting time to chill with the locals will give you a much deeper understanding of why this rugged part of the world is the top of the list for anyone who might come back to revisit Ireland.

Dodging tourist traps, mega-hotels, "leprachauns" and "pots of gold", we cross straight into the Sunnny South-East of Ireland. Joe will welcome the group into his home-town of Dungarvan and will proudly parade us into all the bars he once got kicked out of. Some of them might even let us in.. All of this will happen after touring the Blackwater Whiskey Distillery and sampling some of it's finest offerings.

The final leg of the adventure brings us up along the Ancient East coastline along the Wicklow Mountains to our final night just outside Dublin City. This location makes a breeze of the final day for anyone taking an early flight onwards, or for anyone who is continuing their trip by adding a few extra days in Dublin.

Style & Comfort

The itinerary and route are one thing, but doing it in style and comfort is where this tour truly becomes worthwhile. There is a fine line between taking a "Big Bus Coach Tour" vs an authentic small group experience like this one. Our luxury mid-sized coach gives us all the comfort and space of a touring coach, but also allows us to travel into the smaller towns and villages where the bigger bus tours simply cannot reach.

The inclusive nature of the tour is balanced in a way that you are non dipping into your wallet every 10mins, but you'll also have plenty of time away from the group to truly make this a personal an unique trip to you. We take pride in the experience that we have in touring Ireland, and knowing how to make sure that we avoid the crowds, when the music is kicking off and where to find the creamiest pints of Guinness.

Accommodation

Accommodations for this tour are of 4 Star Hotel standard, or best available.

What does "best available" mean?

Well, they don't have 4 Star hotels on Inis Óirr, so we're going with a local, family-run large guest house.
