Have you wanted to explore the backcountry of the Rocky Mountains, but don't yet have confidence in your skills? Maybe you're looking to pick up a new sport, learn tips and tricks for efficiency, or meet rad ladies that would tour with you?
Join us and Stay Wild Backcountry Skills in our women's specific camp as we learn more about ski touring, receive our Avalanche Safety Training 1 (AST 1) certification, and meet other like-minded ladies!
The AST 1 will cover avalanche formation and release, identifying avalanche terrain, the basics of trip planning, tools and resources to mitigate your avalanche risk, appropriate travel techniques while touring and riding in avalanche terrain and intro to companion rescue.
AST 1 will follow the curriculum provided by Avalanche Canada and will provide you with the knowledge necessary for you to further your education either with Managing Avalanche Terrain,Companion Rescue, AST 2 or CAA Level 1 Avalanche Operations.

Kieren Britton - Founder - Kieren's specialty is any adventure that involves a challenge. Whether it's cycling across Canada at the age of 20 to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Canada, or converting a school bus into a mobile home (Skoolie) for an 8 month road trip around North America, Kieren likes to think up the ridiculous, and make it a reality.
Tracey Peet - Representative - Tracey was born and raised in northern BC. What started as a love for hiking, road biking, and resort skiing quickly developed into trail running, downhill mountain biking, and sled skiing. Tracey has lived all over BC; from Kitimat, Vancouver, to Prince George. She now resides in the Kootenays where she works in Invermere and vacations at her tiny home in Golden.
