About this trip

Have you wanted to explore the backcountry of the Rocky Mountains, but don't yet have confidence in your skills? Maybe you're looking to pick up a new sport, learn tips and tricks for efficiency, or meet rad ladies that would tour with you?

Join us and Stay Wild Backcountry Skills in our women's specific camp as we learn more about ski touring, receive our Avalanche Safety Training 1 (AST 1) certification, and meet other like-minded ladies!

The AST 1 will cover avalanche formation and release, identifying avalanche terrain, the basics of trip planning, tools and resources to mitigate your avalanche risk, appropriate travel techniques while touring and riding in avalanche terrain and intro to companion rescue.

AST 1 will follow the curriculum provided by Avalanche Canada and will provide you with the knowledge necessary for you to further your education either with Managing Avalanche Terrain,Companion Rescue, AST 2 or CAA Level 1 Avalanche Operations.

Please read our Terms and Conditions before registration.

The Lady Alliance Reps

Kieren Britton - Founder - Kieren's specialty is any adventure that involves a challenge. Whether it's cycling across Canada at the age of 20 to raise funds for Prostate Cancer Canada, or converting a school bus into a mobile home (Skoolie) for an 8 month road trip around North America, Kieren likes to think up the ridiculous, and make it a reality.

Tracey Peet - Representative - Tracey was born and raised in northern BC. What started as a love for hiking, road biking, and resort skiing quickly developed into trail running, downhill mountain biking, and sled skiing. Tracey has lived all over BC; from Kitimat, Vancouver, to Prince George. She now resides in the Kootenays where she works in Invermere and vacations at her tiny home in Golden.

This past September long weekend, I participated in an amazing weekend of adventure organized by The Lady Alliance. I did not know any of the other ladies before this weekend so I was unsure what to expect but within the first few hours I felt like I had instantly made 28 new friends!" - Amanda Bonner - The Lady Alliance Facebook Page.

It was a great group to experience my first hike with! Definitely will do out again :)
I had an amazing time and met some great people, that I hope to continue to hike with in the future. I will be recommending future hiking meetups and events with The Lady Alliance to others and I will definitely be attending other events myself.

The Lady Alliance absolutely mastered the perfect balance of providing courses and trips that are appealing and challenging, while combining like-minded women with common goals, all in beautiful locations with awesome leaders, guides, and representatives! I will definitely be signing up for more courses in the future, and I suggest that you do the same!
