This is one of the most iconic hikes in the High Tatras and a real highlight of the trip. The route begins with a long approach through forest and valley trails before climbing steadily into open alpine terrain with impressive views of rugged peaks all around. The higher we go, the path turns rocky and steep, with sections of stone steps and scree, and near the summit we’ll use fixed chains to help us over the final stretch.
Reaching the top at 2,499 m is an incredible moment — the highest point in Poland and right on the Slovak–Polish border. From here the panorama opens across the Tatras in both countries, with sharp ridgelines and glacial valleys spread out below. A tough day, but one that rewards every step.

This full-day hike combines two of the most famous routes in the region, offering a mix of adventurous trails, dramatic scenery, and varied terrain. The first section follows a winding river canyon, where narrow paths, metal steps, footbridges, and chains help us navigate along the cliffside above the water. It’s not technically difficult, but it does require balance, steady footing, and a head for heights.
From there, we continue into one of the best-loved gorges, where the path follows the rocky streambed, climbing beside waterfalls with the help of ladders and wooden walkways. This section is exciting and rewarding, with every corner revealing a new view of cascades, mossy rock walls, and forest light filtering above.
Together, the two routes create a varied and memorable day out — part river gorge, part vertical adventure — and an absolute highlight of the area for anyone who enjoys a challenge and a sense of discovery.

This is a demanding full-day hike along one of the most striking ridgelines in the Low Tatras. From the very start, the route heads up onto open ground, leaving the forests behind for expansive mountain views. Once on the ridge, the trail undulates across a series of peaks and saddles, with constant panoramas of deep valleys to the south and the higher High Tatras to the north.
The terrain is exposed and rocky in places, with long ascents and descents that require good fitness, stamina, and sure footing. Weather conditions can change quickly, so preparation and the right kit are essential.
Reaching the high points of the ridge is hugely rewarding, with wide horizons and the sense of a true mountain journey — a challenging but unforgettable highlight of the trip.
