Highlights of the Inca Trail 5 days tour

Day by day summary of the Inca Trail 5 days Tour

Day 1: Cusco – KM 82 – Wayllabamba
Start in your hotel at 5.00 am, drive to Km 82, Breakfast, and begin the Inca Trail hiking along the Urubamba and Cusichaca river banks. You will visit local villages and important archeological sites such as Willkaraykay, Patallacta, and Wayllabamba.

Day 2: Wayllabamba – Dead Woman’s Pass – Pacaymayo
Wake up with a coffee in your tent and get ready to hike to the highest point on the Inca trail, Warmiwañusca or Dead Woman’s Pass, at 4215 m.a.s.l; the hike is challenging and yet very enjoyable with spectacular views of the mountains.

Day 3: Pacaymayo – Runcu Raccay – Phuyupatamarca
Start the day conquering the second and last mountain for Runkurakay at 4000 m.a.s.l while visiting the archeological sites of Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Conchamarka, and enter into the cloud forest. Camp with the best view of the Andes mountain ranges.

Day 4: Phuyupatamarca – Sungate – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes
Wake up with the sunrise over the Andes; this is the most beautiful day of the trek, visiting several archaeological sites: Phuyupatamarka, Intipata, Wiñaywayna, Sungate, and finally arrive at Machu Picchu in the afternoon and see the great citadel almost empty. Spend the night in a 3-star hotel.

Day 5: Machu Picchu (The Lost City of The Incas) – Cusco
Take the early buses to Machu Picchu and explore with your tour guide the most important places; before leaving the citadel, you will have time to explore yourself. After lunch, board the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo and then a private van back to Cusco.

It was so hard to purchase our own tickets the day the tickets were available for sale from the Peruvian website which kept crashing and the tickets for our preferred time disappeared. I contacted TreXperience via WhatsApp, they replied within seconds and they helped our family in purchasing tickets for our desired time. Rosmel who was the person that helped me out, was super cordial, helpful and responsive to any of my questions even late into the evening. The whole process was seamless and stress free. Would I purchase thru TreXxperience again? 100%

We had the pleasure of having Christian be our guide for the day in amazing Machu Picchu. Christian came to our hotel to pick us up (came a few minutes early which was fantastic), guide us to the bus stop and provided a fantastic explanation of Machu Picchu's history and every building we asked about. Having visited Machu Picchu many times, Christian knew the best picture perfect locations for us to have great memories. At the end of the tour he also gave us restaurant recommendations which were bang on! (we went to Full House). Coincidentally, I ran into him later that night in Aguas Calientes, he picked me out of a crowd, remembered my name and continued to give me a bit of history about the town. - Talk about awesome.

We had a great time! The weather was perfect during our hike and our guide Pepe is the best! His English and knowledge about the culture, flora and fauna in the area is superb. The freshly prepared breakfast and lunch by our assigned chef are delicious. All package inclusions were provided with good quality.

Great trip! Edy our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the significance of the trail. Balbino the chef cooked excellent food. I was stunned by what he was able to serve while on the trail. Special thanks to Jilmar (Gilmar) the porter as well. Would highly recommend Trexperience!

I can't recommend Trexperience enough! My husband and I were lucky enough to have had two great experiences with Trexperience during our time in Cusco. The first was the Short 2 day Inka Trek. Thanks to our wonderful guide Sara we had the best time. Sara was so kind, professional and passionate. We learned so much on our trek about the Inka history and Andrean culture thanks to Sara. Our second experience was a Trek to Rainbow Mountain and The Red Valley. Our guide Jose (PePe) was fantastic and so much fun. We had a wonderful day climbing the mountain with him. During both of our trips we had comfortable transportation and a smoth journey thanks to the Trexperience drivers. Additionally on both days we had freshly prepared breakfast and lunch made by the Trexperience chefs. This food was some of the best we had during our trip in Peru. Thank you to our tour guides, drivers, chefs and porters for not one, but two great trips. We are so grateful. Lots of love from Ireland ☘️
