As a former music educator, Eric Kauffman has been involved in the student travel industry for 25+ years. Eric often sought ways to get his students “out of the classroom” and into a real-world learning environment. KTS grew from the simple principal of putting people first and developing a relationship that feels like you are traveling with family. I value providing an authentic educational experience, offering the director and parents peace-of-mind, while keeping the curriculum objectives and budget goals in the forefront.

Child’s perspective: Both not happy about drive down. Woken up several times during the night causing them to be exhausted once they arrived to water park. One slept in a chair at water park because of this. Both also said too much time at park with no option to return to rooms earlier. Even if one return to room time slot option was offered this would have made a difference in the exhaustion level of the children. Probably a school decision for logistics but it still should be addressed. Parent perspective: The kids arrived safely and had good sleeping accommodations so happy for that. We heard after the trip that parents could have bundled up and purchased a package for themselves on this trip. Not sure if that is accurate or not as that information was not made clear at the beginning. The performances and park visits could have been arranged with more consideration for the families attending. A lot of money was spent in order to get these children down there. It would have made more sense to do Epic park on Friday with the free performances and Universal Studio and Island of Adventures on Saturday with the Marching band performance. Although arrangements were made once parents asked to get a discount ticket to see their children perform in Universal Studios it was obvious no consideration was taken before hand for any of the families going. All the Marching band families had to pay to see their children perform and then got no time with them because they were shuttled off to Epic park. Which no discount was offered to go to that park. Poorly planned and this should not happen again for future families if going with this company or any company again.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Penn State and NYC with the Davidson HS Choirs! Everything went smoothly and we managed to get a LOT packed into a weekend! My only regret was not getting to have a talk-in with a cast or the ability to stay and get signatures after a show. The highlight of the weekend (besides the shows) was the amazing performance clinic with Thayne Jasperson. That was top tier!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Eric was awesome. The trip was organized and efficient. He kept us on schedule and we had the opportunity to see and experience so much! Hamilton and The Outsiders were both outstanding. The workshop with Thayne Jasperson was one of the highlights. The dinner cruise was a perfect ending. I appreciated Angel, our bus driver, as well. She was funny and super on point in her responsibilities. The only suggestion I have is that maybe Saturday or Sunday morning start the schedule just a little later to allow just a little more sleep. I say that only because by the end some of the kids (and chaperones) were really dragging. Maybe just a little recharge your battery time would be helpful. I know that time was precious when you were trying to fit so much into the trip. It was an absolute blast. Eric was very sensitive to our unique medical situation and that was very much appreciated as well!

This was such a well organized, fun filled trip! It takes true talent to coordinate 54 people attending the symphony, and architectural boat tour, a broadway show, a jazz club show, the aquarium, shopping on the magnificent mile and the art institute! And so much more in between….all in 2 1/2 days! Many wonderful memories were made and the Aurora high school choir and chaperones are so very grateful!!
