The Sunsets and Southern Charm April 21-25 tour to Charleston and Savannah was an absolutely beautiful trip with a very busy itinerary, i.e., the way I like it. This was my 3rd attempt for this tour and it was well worth it. Let me begin by saying our Tour Director Janet Serra was fantastic. She was ‘On Top’ of everything making for a smooth 5 days. Since I booked my trip on-line and not a part of the Southington Senior Center, Janet helped greatly with my connection upon arrival and departure eliminating so much stress. A Tour Director can make or break a trip and she certainly made the tour run smoothly. I would travel with her again. I loved the guided narrated tour in Charleston, Horse-Drawn carriage in Beaufort (I believe the guide was Charlotte. She was so sweet, cheerful and spoke to her horse so tenderly. Loved her accent.), and the narrated tour in Savannah viewing architecture and learning the history at various locations. It was a great schedule of interesting things to learn and enjoy. The Local Guides on all 3 tours spoke clearly and were very entertaining. The Dolphin cruise of Tybee Island was great being on the water which brought back many special memories of days gone by. The ‘Full Breakfasts’ were fantastic at both hotels rather than Continental. Best Restaurant: Paula Deen’s Overall Entrees, Best Fried Chicken (not overdone) and Location (nice to be walking distance from hotel). Aside for the rainy arrival day, which is beyond anyone’s control, we had awesome weather. Came home with wonderful memories of what I saw, learned and people I met. I would recommend this tour for sure.

It was really wonderful the tour and the Culinary institute. Disappointed at the FDR library and Museum... cafe and gift shop not open

Good value. Accommodations and meals were good, and the tour guides (Loretta and local guide) and bus driver were excellent (van driver from RI to CT, not so much). Itinerary was full and interesting and there was still plenty of time to explore on your own.

There were many highlights to this tour that were unexpected (even though on the itinerary!) Lunch at Parliament House was fabulous as we had amazing food and got to see the inside of this beautiful building. We got to see lots of the old town and the tour of Castle Frontignac was outstanding. Loretta the guide from TofD was very caring with some of the more frail guests. The Ice Hotel was well worth a visit. Our VIP tickets for the parade gave us a fantastic view and we had a fabulous time. I thought the local guide could have spent a lot less time talking about history and more about Quebec today.
