numerous museums, wineries, and world famous restaurants. For those venturing beyond the city, the Cape Winelands and Cape Peninsula are a day trip away.

Cape Town’s rich cultural heritage dates back more than 300 years and its diversity is evident in the city’s architecture, art, and food. It is the second most populous city in South Africa and sits at the southwest tip of Africa.

Table Mountain & Footsteps To Freedom Walking Tour

Today we explore both the City and Table Mountain. The tour starts early with a trip up Table Mountain by cable car for a panoramic view of the whole of the Cape Peninsula.

Afterwards you travel to the historic centre of Cape Town with its many 17th and 18th century buildings.

Time permitting (depending on Cable car queues), we'll visit the picturesque Bo-Kaap, a historic sector of the city with original Malay buildings and narrow streets.

Note:

We will pre-purchase the Table Mountain tickets (by-passing the ticket queue). However the number of people wanting to head up Table Mountain has surged. Sometimes the queue to get INTO the cable car can also be long.

11am - Historical walking tour of the City

This is a private 2 to 2.5 hour walking tour. You explore the Old Town, catch the buzz of the city in Greenmarket Square, see where slaves were traded and where they toiled in the Company’s Garden. You visit Parliament, where the apartheid

laws were passed and repealed and hear of the devastating consequences of unfettered racism through the District Six forced removal. Get to the heart of Cape Town with Footsteps to Freedom.

Sights to be seen on the Walking Route

Greenmarket Square

St George’s Mall

Slave Tree Site and Slave Lodge

Parliament, Government Avenue and Tuynhuis

Company’s Garden (Rhodes- & Smuts Statue)

If you are interested in visiting any of these museums, then we suggest you opt for the full day tour: Bokaap Museum; Heart of Cape Town Museum, Groote Schuur hospital (history of heart transplant in S.A.); South African Jewish Museum

& synagogue, Cape of Good Hope Castle, District Six museum, Truth to Power, Bishop Tutu Foundation, South African Museum and Planetarium, Bokaap Museum, The Salve Lodge & Langa Heritage Dompas Museum (the story of apartheid’s hated “pass”).

Afterwards you are transferred back to the Waterfront (10 mins drive) in time for a late lunch - for your own account.

The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

Welcome Dinner at Spyced Restaurant

Spyced offers Modern African cuising with a nod to Cape Malay Food and the Cape Town Jazz scene. It was inspired by the discovery of the Spice Route in East Africa.

This culinary experience is accompanied by unique Cape Town jazz. If you arrive early, you can participate in an interactive African drumming session.

Cape Winelands Private Full Day Tour

Today you enjoy a private tour to the Cape Winelands for a leisurely exploration of the historic towns of Stellenbosch and Somerset West as well as wine tasting at local wine estates.

The majestic scenery of the winelands is unparalleled so even if you don’t drink wine, the countryside and history make it well worth the visit. A combination of the favourable effects of the two major ocean currents meeting off the Cape makes

the climate in the area perfect for the acres of vineyards. The stunning backdrop of the mountains, the tree-lined streets and the white gabled Cape Dutch homesteads all blend in tranquil harmony.

You first head to one of the oldest wine estates in the country - Vergelegen - to experience the rich historical and architectural traditions of the region.

We begin with a cellar tour of their state of the art cellars, We then head to the Long Room where we have a reserve wine tasting. Next we explore the beautiful gardens and surrounding mountain views.

Before enjoying lunch at the Stables Restaurant.

After lunch, you head to Stellenbosch. It is easy to see why Simon Van Der Stel decided to build a village in such an idyllic spot.

The Cape Dutch architecture along the oak-lined streets and the many alfresco cafes give Stellenbosch a charm that will not be quickly forgotten.

Next we head back to Lanzerac for some wine-tasting in their cellar.

Area:

Founded in 1679, Stellenbosch is the second oldest European settlement in the Western province, after Cape Town. This historic town is known for oak lined cobblestone streets, classic Cape Dutch architecture, and its vibrant wine industry.

Stellenbosch is a very walkable town with many small shops, boutiques, art galleries, some fabulous local restaurants and vineyards, and more than 100 wine cellars. There are a number of excellent hikes in the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, as

well as a full day Vineyard Hiking Trail which winds its way through vineyards, forests, olive groves, and coastal renosterveld.

Stellenbosch, along with nearby Paarl and Franschhoek, forms part of the Cape Winelands, the largest contributors to the one billion liters of wine produced in South Africa annually. It is approximately 50 km (30 mi) east of Cape Town, on a

scenic road lined with breathtaking mountain ranges, green rolling hills and valleys and, as one approaches the Winelands, vineyards roll out in all directions. It is home to the University of Stellenbosch, founded in 1863, and today one of South Africa’s leading universities with nearly 30,000 students.

Lanzerac Hotel & Spa

Set on a working wine farm, guests are spoilt with easy access to the cellar and the Tasting Room where they can embark on a sensory experience with innovative wine and chocolate pairings. In addition, guests can enjoy swimming pools

(indoor and outdoor), various restaurants - including a Whiskey Bar/Lounge, a Deli, or unwind and rejuvenate at the Lanzerac Spa, a sought-after wellness retreat and relaxation hideaway.

Just a five-minute drive from Stellenbosch town, Lanzerac is the ultimate getaway to relax your senses and allow the harmony and tranquility of the majestic Jonkershoek Valley to work its magic.

The Luxury Room accommodates up to four guests with either a king or twin bed configuration and includes amenities such as a Nespresso machine, a satellite TV, air-conditioning, under-floor heating, a minibar, a safe, a hairdryer, and

laundry service. The en-suite bathroom features a separate shower and bath with luxury toiletries. Guests enjoy daily breakfast (continental buffet and hot options), select mini-bar items replenished once daily, daily turndown service with bottled water, and wireless internet.

Sabi Sand Nature Reserve

The Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, named for the Sabie and Sand Rivers which flow through it, is renowned for its wildlife density and predator interactions; seldom will a visitor not see the Big Five. Although it shares a fenceless boundary with

Kruger National Park, much of the wildlife in the Sabi Sand stays more or less in the reserve. Over the years, the animals have become used to the presence of safari vehicles, resulting in close encounters, particularly with the elusive leopards.

Roaming packs of African wild dogs, territorial lions, and large herds of elephants are also signature sightings. As well as having a consistently high density of wildlife, the reserve's conservation ethos keeps vehicle numbers to a minimum at

wildlife sightings. This offers a more exclusive safari experience while ensuring the welfare of the habituated animals.

Being in the private reserve generally affords more flexibility with opportunities to off-road, enjoy night drives and bush walks, all of which make visiting this area a truly unique experience.

This five-star luxury lodge features eight exquisite renovated and redecorated glass-fronted, air-conditioned suites, each with private plunge pool and superb views over the African bush. Sensational game viewing and a wide variety of

activities, along with outstanding fine dining, attended to by professional and friendly staff, all create the safari experience of a lifetime.

Facilities at this Sabi Sand lodge include an extensive library with internet access, a traditional Shangaan boma, a fully- stocked wine cellar, and a curio shop that have all recently undergone extensive refurbishments.

The treatment sala and gym are very popular among guests. Work up a sweat in the fully-equipped gym overlooking the bush below or enjoy an array of pampering massage treatments in the private glass-fronted sala offering spectacular views

from its carefully chosen vantage point off the main pool deck.

Here Africa’s big game abounds and each day is different, as you explore the endless fascination of Africa’s wildlife in an

open game viewer. Leopard on the hunt. Lions roaring at twilight. Hippo wallowing in the river. Crocodile basking on a

sandy bank. Overhead, majestic eagles keep watch. Out walking you will discover some of the endlessly captivating small

creatures of Africa. These are just a few of the amazing encounters awaiting you!

Built on a hill overlooking the reserve, Leopard Hills boasts eight exquisitely-decorated and luxurious glass-fronted suites.

Complete with their own sundeck and plunge pool, the suites offer superb views of the African bushveld. The suites are generously spacious and have air-conditioning and overhead fans. The breathtaking romantic bathrooms include indoor

and outdoor showers, which open to a glorious view of the passing cavalcade.

A scenic transfer takes in many of these highlights when travelling between safari lodges and country lodges of the Drakensberg Escarpment.

The tour visits the highlights of the Panorama Route, namely the scenic Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and Three Rondavels. Stops at some of the waterfalls on route (usually Lisbon and/or Berlin Falls) are also
