Experience the best of Southern Africa in this 10-day authentic journey crafted by TWK Tours. Join us as we bring you and your family or friends to our favorite well-known and off-the-beaten-path places that we have personally experienced in our years visiting South Africa. On this trip, visit Soweto, Sandton and Madikwe Game Reserve (Malaria Free) as well as Victoria Falls. Includes most meals, Soweto tour, visit to an elephant sanctuary, eight game drives, upscale accommodation, transfers, in-country transportation, expert guides and real authentic local experiences.

5-Star Safari Experience plus Victoria Falls included. Start in the heart of Southern Africa, Johannesburg and the upscale area of Sandton with endless dining options, outdoor restaurants in Mandela Square, sunset rooftop drinks and music with outdoor fire places and couches at the Sandton Sun hotel. Visit the bustling area of Soweto Township and learn about the apartheid era uprising. Visit Nelson Mandela's home, have local lunch and visit an elephant sanctuary getting close up to the huge African elephants.

Then for the main event, head north near the Botswana border to Madikwe Game Reserve and the 5-star Rhulani experience. All meals and drinks included on safari (get ready to put on some pounds the food is that good!), luxury accommodations, and the thrill of twice daily game drives with just our group. Experience sundowners and morning breakfast in the bush tracking lions and watching elephants.

Return to Johannesburg for the onward flight to Victoria Falls. Take a sunset sail on the Zambezi River spotting hippos and crocs.

South Africa currently has no restrictions for entry. Their medical system is the best in Africa with modern clinics and hospitals. There are many pharmacies available. Madikwe is Malaria Free - No shots needed. Some vaccinations recommended but not necessary for entry.

NOTE: We highly recommend arriving one day early and joining us at the Aero Guest Lodge Hotel. This will give you a day to rest, get over jet lag and meet other guests on the tour. The hotel has a large grassy area for the kids to run around, honor bar, a great local kitchen and is near the airport. We will meet you at the airport and bring you to the Aero Guest Lodge. This will not add much to the total cost of your trip.

Elephant Sanctuary: Visit the African elephant up close. Learn about their behaviors and walk next to them in their surroundings. Also take a stroll through the nearby massive monkey habitat with all kinds of primates swinging from the trees and coming in for a closer look.

The only suggestion I would have would be to warn people of all of the tipping required and especially that the tipping should be in US dollars. I was totally caught off guard and felt bad when I ran short of dollars.

Jeremy and Carrie, seasoned guides, provided us with their many years' experience and allowed us to have wonder and discovery! The boat ride on the Zambezi River was exciting and sensuous and a wonderful introduction to South Africa bush! Victoria Falls was vast and breathtaking... a glorious setting for moms and dads to fall in love again. The kids were effervescent and overflowing with awe at the Falls! The safari was the main attraction, the photographic game drive in the open-air small vehicles and guides took us very up close to Rhinos, groups of lions grooming themselves, pairs of cheetahs, and groups of elephant families at the watering hole!! The herds of zebras were the best, and we loved being pampered by the entire staff at the Rhulani Safari Lodge, located in an immense Madikwe Game Reserve. All the choices Jeremy and Carrie Simmons of Travel With Kids (TWK), provided us with insight, discovery, relaxation, and joy! We will be spreading the word to our friends and colleagues.
