After breakfast, we start the tour of the financial capital of India. Mumbai is the busiest hustling bustling city in India. We will see the big contrast between significant buildings and slums. It’s a bustling and charming city. We shall have a panoramic tour of Mumbai. 

We arrive at the famous dhobi ghat, where we see the people washing clothes and hanging around the whole area, a very colourful and live experience of the local life, Chhatrapati Shivaji museum, which is also called Victoria memorial. It has an exquisite collection of various antiquities. 

March 17th 

Mumbai to Cochin.

After breakfast early, check out from the hotel at 9 am and transfer to the airport for our domestic flight to Cochin at 11 am. We arrive in Cochin in the afternoon and then transfer to the hotel.

We visit the famous Kathakali dance show in the evening and spent the rest of the day at the hotel.

We have a Guided tour of Cochin City, visiting the Jewish synagogue, Mattancherry Palace, St Francis Church and Chinese fishing nets. This will be followed by a tuk-tuk ride in the Fort Kochi area.   

Afternoon we shall have the opportunity to shop for famous crafts of the region. Cochin has been the centre of trade for centuries. famous for its up-market products. We shall have a chance to see some fine rugs, jewellery, and textiles. Later back in the evening, to the hotel.

Leave for  Alleppey (Approx. 01 Hrs.) and board the traditional houseboat called Kettuvallam. Cruise through backwaters experiencing the local life. 

We will float through the narrow canals and interact with the local people.

You will stay overnight on this traditional houseboat. 

Drive to Thekkady (Approx 04 Hrs.).  This place is famous for its spices and many plantations in the surrounding hills.

We visit the spice plantation and learn about all the exotic spices and their different qualities. You will have a chance to buy the best quality spices to take home. Later check-in at A beautiful cottage-style resort which is one of the best in this place.

Spend your evening witnessing the Kalaripayattu martial art show. Which is a traditional art of Kerala. 

 Experience a boat ride at Lake Periyar, and you will have a chance to see beautiful wildlife as we float through the quiet waters.

Proceed for a tea plantation tour and visit a tea factory to see how they process the leaves.

Travel to Madurai (approx. 05 Hrs.). On the way, we pass by different farms of coconuts, flowers, and vineyards. 

In Madurai and we visit houses of weavers to see Madurai sari weaving. 

In the evening proceed to the Meenakshi temple area to walk around the local markets.

We shall have a chance to see the textiles of Madurai. We shall visit a textile place where you can get your garments made. 

Also, visit the Gandhi Memorial Museum; You can buy some of the famous khadi fabric at a government khadi store. 

Spend the evening exploring the markets.
