About this trip

We had a great time as a family of four, 2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 10.   The staff did a great job of guiding us, providing information and taking really great photos and videos for us!  Overall, highly recommend this tour! 

ATV TOUR THROUGH THE SACRED VALLEY Half Day

Could not recommend this trip enough, wonderful service from the guide, he got me up a very difficult trail (for me), and we had some amazing scenery.
A brilliant experience that I may not have made it with anyone else, he really went the extra mile to help us.

One of the highlights of my trip. The guide was wonderful and being able to take in the sights by ATV was very unique

This was an amazing tour! The ATV ride was super fun, I spent my childhood on those and the guides were really permissive 😃.  And the two places we visit were also worthing it!

A agência é muito organizada. Enviou os ingressos com antecedência e na noite anterior ao passeio, foram até o nosso hotel explicar todo o itinerario.  Muito feliz pela experiência.

MACHU PICCHU COMBO: TICKETS + BUSES + GUIDE 1 Day

Good. The driver was on time. No English which is fine since it’s our own problem with us  speaking little Spanish. We just didn’t understand why our train time didn’t show up. We sat at the train station and it said “inca” train but never “Peru” train so it kind of stressed us out. It did show up but it just wasn’t clear. 

We got to Manchu Picchu and someone was there to meet us. We had an hour to explore on our own which was great.

The part I didn’t like was our guide. It was a group of 4 which the tour guide told us this is pretty much a private tour so you had better tip him well.  We are American and used to tipping but it was just rude. 

The tour guide asked if we had any health issues and I told him from the start that we were coming from sea level and had issues adjusting to the altitude. He said that was fine but told the group he is into fitness and was not going to go slow. That’s exactly what he did. He left us. That was fine for my husband and I, we didn’t mind but the Indian couple that got left far behind was really upset.

The information he gave us was great but I had to take an emergency phone call from back home. My child was experiencing a tornado back home and called me scared. The tour guide “jimmy” called me out saying that he had lost my attention and embarrassed me in front of the group. 

We tipped $30. Would have tipped more if I was not  embarrassed, rushed, or felt pushed. 


Full Day Trip to Machu pichu

We had an absolutely wonderful trip! We were so grateful to have gone through Willka Travel - they coordinated so many travel logistics with the multiple forms of transportation and everything went so smoothly. They were also very receptive to questions leading up to the trip and helped add another friend on to the itinerary last minute. They also helped us coordinate adding on at ticket for the Waynapicchu Mountain hike (requires additional fee).  We thoroughly enjoyed spending a day visiting the salt mines and Moray (plus stops at a traditional textile weaving practice and local market selling salts and chocolates) on our way to Aguas Calientes. It felt worthwhile to arrive in Aguas Calientes the night before the Machu Picchu tour to make for a slightly less early morning with less commuting. Our tour guides for both days (Mija and Victor) were excellent - so kind and welcoming and knowledgable of the sites. Our drivers and escorts were also great. Would recommend for any person or group looking for a stress free way to get around the historic sites around Cusco, take in some stunning sights and learn a lot!

MACHU PICCHU OFFICIAL TICKETS

We bought Machu Picchu tickets a month in advance, but were told 1.5 days before going to Machu Picchu that the tickets were sold out. They admitted that they dropped the ball, and didn’t get a notification for when the tickets went on sale. This probably wouldn’t have been a problem if they told us a week before going, but not right before heading over there… specially since our entire trip to Cusco revolved around Machu Picchu. They offered the next day’s tickets, but since we already had everything booked, it was too late to cancel and change trains & hotels without penalty.

This ended up costing us… we had to change our train tickets last minute to go to Aguas Calientes the night before (charged extra for the late change), to be able to buy Machu Picchu tickets in person, and then spend an extra hotel night in Aguas Calientes, when we already had a place to stay.

Saved us from waiting in line to buy bus tickets, and be one of the first ones to get on the bus up to Machu Picchu.

Leaving from base camp vs Cusco was far more convenient for us. Our transfer arrived promptly after our tour was over. Smooth ride and would absolutely book again.

TRANSPORTATION ATV BASE IN MARAS - OLLANTAYTAMBO

Was blown away by this trip! Had a wonderful time learning about natural dyes, textiles and seeing the amazing salt mines. Would 100% recommend. Our guide was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable!

COMBO SACRED VALLEY

We had a great time. The guide was so knowledgeable and very good at managing people. It's a pity we didn't get to see Chinchero archoleogical Park. Moray and Maras were lovely spots. The bus was comfortable. Would recommend.

Wonderful experience! Our guide was great; he was with us the whole way, went at our pace and talked about the history of the place and took amazing pictures. Hike was challenging but worth it. Glad we went early in the morning as it got incredibly crowded about 30 minutes after we arrived. Would 100% recommend!

Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) hike Full Day

My husband and I had a great time at this trip to Sacred Valley. Our guide Juan was amazing, and explained all the details of Inca culture and history of the places we visited. The itinerary of the tour was nicely planned and well executed. All in all, we had a great time, visiting all the places and enjoying the spectacular views

GUIDE SERVICES IN MACHU PICCHU Full Day

Passeio pontual e com algumas explicações, porém o guia apenas concedia 20 minutos para que o grupo explorasse os locais, o que não era o suficiente para apreciarmos toda a região e nem explorar as construções. Além disso, íamos andando e vimos diversos guias dando explicações e acompanhando o grupo por volta dos sítios arqueológicos, enquanto o nosso guia apenas liberou nosso grupo para andar pelo local, sem acompanhamento e apressando para irmos embora.

Sacred Valley of the Incas Full Day

Nota pela pontualidade e beleza do local, porém o guia não deu nenhuma assistência e quando chegamos no topo da lagoa, ficou apressando e não permitiu que apreciássemos a vista. Agendei 3 passeios com a agência e em todas tive problema com o guia.

Humantay Lake hike Full Day

Nota dada apenas pela pontualidade no recolhimento no hotel. Passeio muito apressado, o guia apressou o grupo durante todo o tempo do passeio. No início do passeio, pedimos para que ele falasse em espanhol, pois meu acompanhante não falava inglês, porém quando chegamos à Moray e o guia não queria fazer as explicações sobre o local, fui falar em inglês com ele e ficou revoltado e reclamou por ter tido que falar espanhol. Além disso, explicou sobre a história do local de forma extremamente breve, menos de 3 minutos e ficamos no local por menos de 20 minutos. Para terminar, o guia saiu e foi embora com todo o grupo e me deixou junto com meu advogado no local sozinhos. Passeio corrido, sem explicação, guia grosso e sem acompanhamento de grupo. 

Guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I very much appreciated his ability to negotiate with the ticketing clerks/guards to ensure that we were able to visit the sight even though we arrived a few minutes after the gates closed.

The driver was very good.. on time and agreed to the route we wanted… we saw Chinchero which was a great experience!

O passeio foi incrível! Nosso guia foi muito bom, o Gilthon além de explicar tudo, fez do trekking uma experiência única para cada membro do grupo e depois fizemos uma roda perto da lagoa, foi muito legal. A lagoa é tão espetacular que ainda não conseguimos acreditar em algo tão lindo! 4200 metros de altitude e o que nos tira o ar é a visão deste lugar mágico. Un-be-liev-a-ble!!!

Nosso tour por Moray e as Salineras de Maras foi ótima! Nosso guia Juan Carlos, o Pinky, foi muito atencioso, divertido e animado. Suas explicações em inglês e espanhol foram ótimas, com uma fluência e conhecimentos bem interessantes e pontuais. Adoramos! Fizemos uma parada em um centro de têxtil em Chinchero, e adoramos a explicação sobre como é feito o fio de lã e como é lavado e tingido naturalmente, a apresentação foi excelente também 

O tour da Montanha de 7 cores foi show. O guia Fredy foi super atencioso e nos foi explicando como faríamos o tour, e todos os detalhes desde o café da manhã, até a chegada na montanha. Ajudou com o aluguel dos cavalos (que precisamos) e depois deu assistência pontual quando minha filha não estava se sentindo muito bem com a altitude. Foi ótimo!! Recomendamos, nota 10!

Foi uma experiência muito especial. O Vale Sagrado é lindo! As ruínas de Pisaq, Ollantaytambo e Chinchero são lindas e valem a visita. Nosso guia Jonathan foi super simpático e explicou tudo em detalhes. Uma experiência incrível!

We had a wonderful time exploring the Sacred Valley. The duration of the tour was just perfect (half day)! Our ATV tour guide - Edgar is fantastic - very knowledgeable and experienced. I'd like that the itinerary included a brief practice on the ATV to determine our level of confidence/expertise. This was an amazing and one of the unforgettable experience we have had so far. My son enjoyed it as well!  Enjoying the natural landscape and the snow-capped mountain backdrop while on the ATV are just perfect to end our trip to wild and wonderful Peru!

Muy buen servicio, son una empresa seria y con los tiquetes ya comprados es rápido el proceso de embarque en los buses para ir a Machu Picchu.

The worst guided tour we ever had !

The guide just made us visit half of incas sites. He gave us a lot of informations but we were staying at the same place so we didn't visit more than the half. And when we said him it was sad to not visit more he told us we didn't have enought time.
 But when we visited the shops for the silver at Pisac or at Chinchero for textiles we have suddently a lot of time. By the way, the explication at the shop of Chinchero could have been insteresting if they were not said like a robot.

At the end of the day we came back to Cusco one hour early with a bad feeling of missing out the most important parts of the sacred Valley. 

Had a great time visiting Machu Picchu with Willka travel. Communication was clear and the trip was tailored to exactly what I wanted. My driver Eulogio and guide at Machu Picchu Ronny were both excellent!

The tour offered by Willka was amazing! I booked it online and very quickly received an email with all the tickets and tour information. Driver was perfectly on time at our hotel, and all the tickets to bus/train worked seemlesly. The tour itself in Machu Picchu was just great, since it was just myself, my sister and another fellow brazilian - so it was very small group which made the tour more pleasant. Our tour guide Roni was the sweetest, always offering himself to take pictures and very aware of Machu Picchu’s history. I highly recommend this tour!

This was a great trip, perfect amount of time allotted for a stop at a textile store (with a demo presentation on how they handmake their wool products) and enough time at both Maras and Moray. The tour guide provided a lot of info on the bus there and at the sites themselves, while allowing time for pictures. Very organized trip!

Thank you Willka Travel for an incredible experience at Machu Picchu. We received our train/bus and tour tickets a couple weeks in advance, and ended up getting a private tour experience with a tour guide Roni, who was very knowledgable about the archaeological site, and helped us take really great photos. I liked that the meals were not included so we could pick what we wanted to eat once in Aguas Calientes after the tour. Highly recommend if you want an intimate tour experience for this world wonder.

O atendimento inicial foi ótimo, disseram que enviariam todos os detalhes depois e passei minhas preferências de horário.
Cheguei em Cusco e um dia antes do passeio ainda não tinha informação alguma.
Tive que ir até a agência pagar o restante do valor e para minha surpresa, descobri que após  o meu passeio ao vale sagrado, que terminaria as 15 horas, eu só pegaria um trem as 19 horas.
Ou seja, 4 horas esperando sem necessidade alguma.
Tive que reclamar muito para que o horário fosse trocado para 16:30.
Agora a pergunta: por que acharam razoável alguém esperar 4 horas por um trem?
Isso não deveria ser algo que eu deveria questionar, como disse na agência, quando cobramos mais caro temos que oferecer diferencial pro cliente, afinal, maior preço deveria estar atrelado a qualidade.
Não foi o que aconteceu.
No mais, tirando a questão de logística que é pensada pela agência, os prestadores de serviço em Machu pichu foram excelentes e deu tudo certo.

Sacred Valley + Machu Picchu 2d

We had an amazing experience in Sacred Valley with our guide Juan. We had a full day tour through the Sacred Valley (Pisac, Moray, Maras and Ollantaytambo). In Maras, we were able to meet a local family and to explain us the traditional salt production process. Our guide Juan was a very nice person with many knowledge about Inca Culture. I definetely reccoment this tour to anyone!  

The tour was amazing! Our guide Nilo was very kind and funny, explained everything with a lot of details! The Sacred Valley is a place full of history!
I super recommend this tour with this agency!

Very nice tour. The time in each atraction was good to have informations, observing details of the sites and take nice pictures. The guide, Humberto, was excellent and, dispite the sun and the high temperature, the tour was relaxing.

Great guides for both humantay lake and machu picchu. Good food provided, and both stunning sites. Would highly recommend visits to both. 
I have two reasons for not going giving five stars - the first is that the hotel that I was put into overnight was dirty and I was rather concerned the sheets hadnt been washed, and the door also didnt lock which did make me feel rather uneasy. The other disappointment was that I had paid extra to also go up the Waynapicchu mountain however there was no time set out for me to do this. The guide I was with tried to make it work but I would have had to have missed half of the Machu Picchu tour which I obviously did not want to miss. I therefore wasn't able to visit Waynapicchu despite paying a reasonable amount extra for it. 

Humantay Lake + Machu Picchu 2 Days / 1 Night

We had an amazing time with Willka! The tour guides were amazing, the organization fantastic and everything went nice and smooth as a tour should be. They were always available to answer to our questions and help us with everything we needed. The hotel in Aguas Calientes was extremely comfortable and all the food provided during the all trip was delicious. Visiting those amazing places with Willka was for sure the best option we could have done! Highly recommended!!!

It totally exceeded my expectations, they fulfilled everything they offered, they picked us up at the hotel on time, the transport was comfortable and safe, the guide was incredible, the food was excellent, totally recommended!!!!

El paseo en moto fue genial, sin embargo,hace falta de guias con más conocimientos en historia para enriquecer la visita.
